Luckily I was listening to WillHill Radio and realised my mistake when they flagged it up – got my bet on the right one just in the nick of time! So another profitable day on the horses but where was all your positive energy for the footie this afternoon, heh??? Ironic that we should have all the chances and hit the woodwork twice, only for Brighton’s sole meaningful effort to result in a goal by Carpenter!

YOU’LL JUST HAVE TO TRY HARDER ON THURSDAY NIGHT !!!

PS Just to clarify, the new filter does not employ Massey or any other rating system, it is entirely statistical.
Hi Rich

The system is churning out the winners at decent prices and all credit to you for that. I’m a little intrigued, to say the least, that it comes up with Royal Exposure who has been off the course for over 3 years.

I’ve been looking at racing systems for longer than I care to remember and this selection has me baffled – well, nearly baffled. There’s only one criteria specific to the horse that could apply but I won’t mention it here in case it puts your secrecy in jeopardy. Of course there could be other criteria such as trainer/jockey/grade at work in the system and I certainly don’t want to start a series of posts trying to guess what criteria you use.
Fascinating stuff…..I hope it wins.

    Hi Artemis

It wouldn’t be the first horse ever to win at a price after a long lay off, but at the end of the day it’s all about taking the rough with the smooth, if you want to back big priced winners you have to expect a few donkeys along the way too. It might win, it might get tailed off! It wouldn’t be the first horse on this thread to do that either! But the system says it is a qualifier and I have to listen to that – I think from memory (I will confirm later) the longest lay-off for a system winner in the last year was 1300 days!

First Clarinch Claymore on Saturday and then yet more photo-finish heartache today as our 12/1 shot found winning illusive (sorry!), finishing like a train only to go down by a head after the 33/1 winner carried him left close home (didn’t actually see the race so don’t know how serious) – there was a Steward’s but unfortunately no change to the result (there never is these days!).

Royal Exposure failed after the lay-off, although there was plenty of money for it so I couldn’t have been the only one who rated its chances! I have checked and previous winners include 18 that had been off for more than 200 days, most notably Shooting Light @ 33/1 in the Aon Chase after a lay-off of 415 days, and two other 33/1 shots after 318 & 271 days – but the longest absence was a 5/1 shot winning after 626 days, not 1300 as I thought earlier!

    On to tomorrow then,

Recently we’ve suffered a couple of bad luck stories but today it was just bad horses, no excuses offered.

On the plus side I have found another filter which is almost as good as the one I found on Saturday, and I’ll be employing it from now on – although I really think I’ve exhausted all avenues now but you never know!

I’ve started posting this on the Masey forum, where I was asked to supply some historic data, so I thought I might as well post it here as well……

OK here’s all the historic data up to last Friday (the 14th) – have only been posting since April 13th so the rest you’ll have to take on trust. The black is the original system performance, the blue is the system with a couple of filters applied that I have developed recently, and the red is all 20/1 plus winners.

And now for a really difficult question – guess how many there are today!?

And let’s have some proper positive energy this time for Swindon at Brighton tonight please – I mean directing it at the back of the Brighton net rather than at the magnetic forcefield accross their goal line that was so much in evidence on Sunday!
