The betting for this race has swirled around with the news surrounding the likelihood of Winx turning up at the meeting.
I thought I would do my bit to ensure that she does turn up. My method? Simply back another runner in the race!
The poor horse being sacrificed this time is Le Brivido.
I thought Le Brivido won the Jersey Stakes very cosily at last year’s Royal Meeting and he looked like a horse ready to step up to Group 1 races but we didn’t see him out again. Prior to that he was a short head second to Brametot in the French 2000 Guineas.
I took 12/1 on Fabre’s colt winning the Queen Anne in the hope he would come to the meeting for a second season and will have improved this year.
I reckon his chance of turning up may just have increased with Coolmore having purchased a 50% stake in the son of Siyouni with the original owners retaining the other half. For me it’s a positive sign that a 50% stake was retained and both sides seem keen to be involved.
Queen Anne Stakes Le Brivido 12/1 for an early shout.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
March 25, 2018 at 23:53 #1348112I took some of that also Steve, he’s some horse to do what he did last season. This race is perfect for him, turns up he’s <4s you would think.
Coolmore purchasing half of him is very interesting.
March 26, 2018 at 06:18 #1348120Big fan of the horse and had to play (for shillings), been trying to find news about his well being for months.
Thanks for heads up on the coolmore stuff steve, just found it on French gallop siteMarch 26, 2018 at 14:58 #1348149Good shout Steve, I’ve followed you in here.
The older milers division looks incredibly weak this year and as I said in the other thread it looks highly doubtful that Winx will be coming over (Paddy Power just pushed her out to 4/1 for the QA). Unless a handicapper takes a big leap forward before Ascot I can’t see many viable threats for this race.
March 26, 2018 at 15:10 #1348152Lincoln winner Addeybb is the same price as Le Brivido at 12/1 for the Queen Anne and for me that doesn’t make sense.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
March 26, 2018 at 15:15 #1348154Was there any reasons given for him not racing since RA?
I remember rumours floating about he had been sold but didnt happen obviously.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!March 26, 2018 at 15:26 #1348158Le Brivido had been due to run in the Marois but met with a minor setback and was said by connections to hopefully be back in time to run in the Moulin. Not sure why he didn’t show, maybe they decided to take their time to get him 100%.
Le Brivido is entered in the Group 3 Edmond Blanc at Saint Cloud on the 2nd Of April.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
March 27, 2018 at 17:38 #1348245Andre Fabre confirmed that injury ruled Le Brivido out for the rest of the season last year. He also confirmed that he will run at Saint-Cloud next week.
The trainer also stated that the horse is now training well and will be aimed at all the major mile races this season. The final word was that Le Brivido may be entered in the Lockinge.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
March 27, 2018 at 18:26 #1348251cheers for the updates steve
March 27, 2018 at 18:36 #1348253if all the decs turn out it will be a test
March 28, 2018 at 10:52 #1348293Winx ruled out of this and any other international meetings. What a let down, though unsurprising.
March 28, 2018 at 11:12 #13482947s le brivido on the back of that news.
Thanks for that Viktor, just seen on ATRMarch 28, 2018 at 11:38 #1348297Same, I think that will look huge come June, so I have put a bit on hills.
March 28, 2018 at 13:46 #1348314Le Brivido could be pretty short if he wins nicely next week.
Lancaster Bomber is only a point bigger currently but for all his placed form he has still only won a maiden in 15 starts. Surely Le Brivido has more scope. Also, why would Coolmore run Lancaster Bomber against a horse they have just bought into? That would seem like potential for being hoist by their own petard?
Dare we speculate that they might use Lancaster Bomber as a pace-maker

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
March 29, 2018 at 00:39 #1348358Lancaster Bomber, like Cliffs of Moher, is another terribly campaigned horse by Aidan o’Brien. His form figures on fast ground are actually really solid and consistent, and with another year on his back I think he can win a G1.
March 29, 2018 at 12:42 #1348375ten left in at moment in france,
Le Brivido is in, Fabre still has Jimmy Two Times in with Inns Of Court, Stormy Antarctic from Ed Walker’s yard still in line upMarch 30, 2018 at 14:48 #1348506Le Brivido not in final line up
