H Wilson 13/2 VS Leeds
D Gayle 5/1 vs villa1st scorer bets today
May 12, 2019 at 11:57 #1435278A couple bets still in play going into the last round of league fixtures
a fiver on L’Pool at 5/1 and £3.50 or something like that on Watford to finish top 10.Liverpool to win to nil has been okay this season. Wolves are a very tricky side but Liverpool have been superb at Anfield all season and I think a clean sheet will be the order of the day. Van Dijk scored in the reverse fixture and has hit the net more regularly since had a nugget on him scoring 1st and also a mix bag of bets in a couple of other games. Arsenal have done really well in Europe but away in the league they have still been a bit lightweight, Gone with Burnley done better at home second half of season and not easy place to visit.
6/5 Liverpool to win to nil £7.00
20/1 Van Dijk 1st goal £1.00
14/1 Burnley 1-0 c/s £1.50
20/1 Burnley 2-0 c/s £1.50-£24.00

May 12, 2019 at 13:09 #1435453My Heinz on the 1st leg playoffs looks like being 5/5 if Charlton can hold on (2-0 up at half time). That means I’d be relying on Mansfield.
£14.25 pays £338.31
Fingers crossed
May 13, 2019 at 17:11 #1437077Liverpool to nil returned £15.40
Was hoping Villa could have a two goal lead going into tomorrows match
still think goals will be the order of the day although with Gayle getting himself suspended it has put a slight dent in WBA chances20/1 Villa 3-1 c/s £1.00
28/1 Villa 3-2 c/s £1.00
70/1 Villa 4-2 c/s 40p-£11.00

May 24, 2019 at 12:16 #1440513Here is my post from May 6:
“Aston Villa are a steal at 9/4 to win the championship Playoffs.
First up for them are WBA who have a temporary management team, can’t decide whether to play 3 or 4 at the back, can’t defend anyway and have become poor away. Villa’s defence has become more secure and they played their 2nd XI vs Norwich. There is no guarantee that Leeds will prevail against Derby who are in good form and have momentum while Leeds have had their worst spell of the season in recent weeks. Everyone is anticipating a Leeds – Villa rematch in the final but it may not be so and the latter are stronger in defence and central midfield than the Rams.
In League 1, I fancy Charlton. First up they have the weakest of the four teams in Doncaster who have not impressed me any time I’ve seen them and have been poor away against the top half. Meanwhile Pompey and Sunderland will be hacking seven bells of hell out of each other for the fourth and fifth times this season. I have not been impressed by either recently but home advantage in the 2nd leg may tip it in favour of Portsmouth who were totally dominated by Athletic at the Valley a couple of months ago. Charlton are on easily the best sustained run of all of them.
I don’t have such a strong opinion on League 2 but fancy Tranmere to squeeze through after three tight games, firstly against Forest Green and in the final probably versus Newport. Mansfield are another team I’ve not been impressed with having seen a few of their recent games and they are not great away while County are very strong at home with a mean defence and played above themselves in the Cup. Whether Newport can transfer that form to a neutral venue is uncertain.”
Only Pompey let me down but I’ve never liked them since our classic FA Cup 1R tie in November 81 when their supporters had the temerity to throw back some of the pint glasses launched at them from outside The Rose opposite New Cross Gate station lol. (Millwall won that replay thanks to an extra time goal by the late Austin Hayes, ex-Southampton!)
Anyway, I will stick with my original predictions. Villa remain the strongest fancy. I think Charlton froze a bit in front of a sold out Valley crowd but they were impressive in the first leg, will have learnt from the experience at home and Sunderland merely had to be functional to overcome Portsmouth. Newport are capable of rising to the occasion but Tranmere also have recent winning Wembley experience, two similar teams with fine managers and real unity of purpose but I reckon Rovers’ players are a bit bigger and stronger overall. Sid Nelson, just released by The Lions, is immaculate at Tier 4 level.
