Tartan Bearer is back after 14 months off the race track, back from a serious career ending injury, but he is set to return in October, with probably The Champion Stakes and BC Turf as likely targets.

Never been out the places in all his races, prone to illness and injury though, this is his second recovery of something serious. Good to see him back though.

Thanks for the update RedRiot, a welcome relief for Stoute after losing Conduit and Harbinger to stud and long interupted career delays with Patkai and Workforce.

Think the BC Turf and Champion Stakes would be a bit soon personally and should start at the Gordon Richard next year.

The nature of his injury remained obscured to this very day. 14 months off the tracks is a long time and the phrase "a serious career ending injury" worries me a bit, as you’ve stated that this is his second serious injury. Do you see a true chance of recovery?

Injured at The Curragh which went on to be an infection where he lost his tail seen him sit out 2008 after the Irish Derby, his second injury was in preperation for the Juddmonte International against Sea The Stars.

He seemed okay last time when he returned, Peter Reynolds said they were keeping him in training till he wins his G1 so I guess he must be in good form, apprently he enjoyed his break.

Think Patkai also is at a further stage in his training, think he is aimed for The Irish St Leger.
