My first Ante-Post bet struck for this years Cheltenham festival was on Cue Card 2 minutes after he fell in last years race.£25 e/w at 10/1,I have backed him several times since at 20/1 down and he stands to win me £2500 for about £200 worth of bets.I have lost £150 on Black Hercules for the Gold cup, Thistlecracks cost me another £100 but I stand to win £1800 from Bristol de Mai at 36’s down and I’ve also had a fiver on both More of that at 120’s and Blaklion at 150’s.My idea of the result is Cue Card to win and Bristol de mai to place that would return about £3000.The Gold cup is my biggest betting race of the festival as far as outlay is concerned
Total £500My second bet for this years festival was on Ballyandy for the ‘Supreme’ £20 at 22’s on the machine but I also had £20 on Battleford at 25’s and £20 onBacardys such was the impression last years ‘Bumper’ had on me.I also have £100 worth of bets on Capitaine at 25’s.
Total £160Another loser for me is Blow by Blow to £50 at 10/1 to win any race at the festival but I have £50 on Battleford at 16/1 to do the same
Total £100In the Arkle I have had £25 e/w on Top notch at 33/1 and lost £50 win on Min at 8/1.I dont have a bet in the race now.
Total £100In the 4m I have lost £20 on Up for review at 25’s but I have £25 on Alpha des Obeaux at 16’s and £20 on Disko at 25’s.My bet now is £25 e/w on Champers on Ice at 16/1.
Total £115In the ‘Ultima’ I have £50 e/w on Holywell at 20/1 and £20 e/w at 16/1.I have £20 on Another hero at 25’s for this too.
Total £160In the Champion hurdle I have a grand total of £5 on Petit Mouchoir at 480’s to 410’s and £50 on prices at 40’s and 34’s down to 20’s and £25 e/w on Footpad at 50/1.

Total £280In the RSA I have £100 e/w on Alpha des Obeaux at 14/1 plus £50 at 25’s down.I also had £10 e/w on Petit Mouchoir at 66/1 for this and £20 e/w on Disko at 25/1 and a tenner on Bellshill at 19’s
Total £220In the Albert Bartlett I have £30 on Wholestone at 10/1 and the banker of the meeting West Approach has £150 e/w at 10/1 and £100 on 12’s down.I also had £20 on Blow by Blow at 20’s

What’s the difference between a non runner and all those savers that lose they all return the sameI had Thistlecrack £5 at 10/1 built up a kitty using bookies money with £30 at 9/2 and had £3 at 80/1 on the King George/Gold Cup double and a load of mickey mouse accumulator run ups which were running onto him
day of the race if he was going off at about evens I’d have to stake a sh!t load of money to get the same sort of return and would lose a shed load of weight with bazooka bum time
as it is the money I lost is all accounted for as I work in a job to invest money in betting instead of gambling money like ginger does

You cant out fox a Fox Nath.Ginge pulls this old chestnut out every year. For the past 7-8 yrs I have made a 4 figure profit from Cheltenham every year and this one will be no different pal.I have definitely increased my bets though this year as I quite fancy a Nissan GTR in Matt black with ‘TAPK 1’ Number plates.
March 2, 2017 at 21:56 #1289607Is there a book available for whether you will finish up or down?
March 2, 2017 at 22:04 #1289610Any chance of including all the ante-post bets you’ve put up on TRF – the ones you’ve already lost too?
Not asking for any bet that you have not mentioned on TRF.
Not asking for how much money is on ANY bet.
Please don’t make out I have.I just think you should include all the ante-post horses you’ve put up on TRF (including the ones who are already lost). Is that too much to ask?

Have you ever thought of working for the Inland Revenue Ginge?

1/5 I make a profit Zam…..2/1 its more than £5k
March 2, 2017 at 22:19 #1289617Fair play to you for laying it all out. Everyone I know makes money at Cheltenham every year but very few show their hand before hand. I suppose nobody likes to talk about the losers. Min has hurt me in my AntePost multiples. I was over exposed with him and I have learned from that. Between Min pulling out, Lets Dance not going to Neptune, Cause Of Causes missing The Ultima and Bellshill turning out to be **** I’d say 40% of my ante post multis are dead. 20% of my budget goes on ante post multis so 8% of my stake budget is dead. The only single bets I’ve lost so far in the ante post are Min in the Arkle and Cause of Causes in The Ultima. I’m alive in every other race and I’ve yet to bet on the Martin Pipe, Fred Winter, Coral Cup, 4 miler and Cross Country.
Have followed your lead with Another Hero, Bouvreuil and Peace & Co.
March 3, 2017 at 00:23 #1289632If you are 1/5 to make a profit does that mean you are 3/1 or 7/2 to lose then??
I could be interested at those prices.Humility is a wonderful thing.
Have you ever heard of that word Gord?

I hear the Jungles of the Amazon rain forest can have 100% of it at times Ray and thats not wonderful.
March 10, 2017 at 19:21 #1290940At last I have found the winner of the ‘Close Brothers chase’ on the Tuesday, bloody tricky race as always but again I have to go with previous Cheltenham form so its Romain de Senam 8/1 nrnb with Bet 365 to £25 e/w.

March 10, 2017 at 23:41 #1290989Good luck Gord..you’ve laid out your table, taken a few sneaky nibbles here and there and are now getting ready for the feast of a lifetime washed down with several bottles of Moet no doubt ..Good luck with your Army for next week will be cheering them home for you, especially Bristol De Mai could he really come back and win the Gold Cup I REALLY hope so, but if not I would love Cue Card to take it Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 11, 2017 at 13:08 #1291089Good luck Gord..you’ve laid out your table, taken a few sneaky nibbles here and there and are now getting ready for the feast of a lifetime washed down with several bottles of Moet no doubt ..Good luck with your Army for next week will be cheering them home for you, especially Bristol De Mai could he really come back and win the Gold Cup I REALLY hope so, but if not I would love Cue Card to take it Jac
I sometimes think me and you should go out on a date Jac…. We could spend half the night talkin horses over a bottle or 2 of Dom Perignon..(I only serve that to special ladies) and the other half of it talkin bout my legendary coups.. Unless you could think of somethin more demandin like! x
If the rain comes friday Morning Jac,I fully expect both Cue Card and Bristol de Mai to be placed.Your Grey is still the most over-priced horse in the race,he’s an e/w steal at 20/1,should be 10/1 on form if ‘Native Rivers’ fav…Good luck yourself and Enjoy.March 11, 2017 at 13:10 #1291092Just taken 10/1 nrnb Messire des Obeaux with Bet365 for the ‘Neptune’ to £50 e/w…Bloody certainty to place this fellow.
