I will be cheering on my favourite sprinter tomorrow in Goodwoods 5f Audi stakes, its a Group 3 which will suit
Inxile
as his half brother Tax Free failed to give 5lb to Moorhouse lad a couple of years ago in the same race! At 10/1 i should get a run for my money,i just hope Rievaulx world doesn"t run him off his feet early, both being drawn low! Inxile is a slow maturing 4yo who hopefully will eventually contest a Group 1.
I think the word i"m looking for begins with a "L" and ends in a "Y"! Regal Parade will bounce back from a wasted trip to Dubai and Evens and Odds simply blew up,Tax Free hates Soft ground but will win again, particularly if he got good fast ground in the Duke of York!
March 29, 2010 at 08:35 #286209The 2000gns has always been one of my favourite races of the year,i cant believe its nearly a quarter of a century since the one and only
Dancing Brave
landed me my 1st big Ante-Post winner!Every year i try to find something that could emulate him and every year i fail! Sea the Stars would have got close! Having lost £20 on Steinbeck already, for this years renewal,i cant help thinking that last years Prix Morny holds the key!
Arcano
is currently a general 8/1 chance,i know connections haven"t committed him to the race yet and so he has drifted to an incredible 24 on the machine! 5 to place! Now my way of thinking is Brian Meehan thought he had last years guineas sewn up with Delegator and he was backed accordingly! I believe he has just as strong a candidate in Arcano, anything that can beat Special Duty is special! Of course there are those who think Canford Cliffs is the next best thing to sliced bread,so to put him in his place too bodes well! St Nicholas Abbey is the 2/1 fav for this years race, but whatever he does over the mile,i think he wants a 11/2m,i think he might just get done for toe! At 24"s i shall take a chance! Could this be another big price winner for the King,or will Awzaan be Sheikh Hamdens Guineas horse and it turns out to be a drama for the "Ante-Post drama Queen"?

Losers -£70
March 31, 2010 at 17:46 #286770TAPK spent 4 hours last night studying 1 race and that was the form from last years 2yo"s,for this years 2000gns! No stone was unturned! This morning i advised my army of supporters to take the 16/1,Oddschecker showed every bookmaker bar Corals 14/1,were offering the 16"s about the once raced son of a 2000gns winner himself
Workforce
! He now trades at around 12/1,every bookmaker bar Ladbrokes have taken money for him!Anyone who saw his Goodwood maiden victory over the subsequent Tattersalls Timeform Million winner "Oasis Dancer" had to be impressed, not only did he get a very tender introduction, just a hands and heels ride from Ryan Moore, but he quickened away in the style you rarely see,so much so his jockey struggled to pull him up!This fellow has bags of scope,he is the spitting image of his Grandsire,Sadlers wells and if this is not a Group 1 performer,i am not the legendary ruler of the Kingdom known as Ante-Post! I would still give Arcano a shout, more so if i knew he was commited to the race! St Nicholas abbey as impressive as he was in the Racing Post still has Derby written all over him! Interesting times!
Lost £250 on Workforce for the Guineas
April 2, 2010 at 19:20 #287226This
Workforce
is being backed now for the Derby! 18"s from 25"s! Surprisingly Sir Michael has stated he will not get an entry, seems a bit harsh for a horse who has only ever ran once in his life and one who has a Stamina packed pedigree!I do hope we are not going to get another "New Approach" to training horses where trainers say one thing then do the exact opposite!I can see Workforce running away with the Guineas and the Derby! Big words from the Legend i know!I do like this colt an awful lot! Flashbacks of Syrian i hear you say!

Won +£1000 on Workforce in the Derby
April 3, 2010 at 22:14 #287383Gordon i was looking through your thread earlier today, logged off, switched on RUK and they were talking about TAPK, would you believe it. What next an appearance in the Racing post perhaps for his highness?

Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
April 3, 2010 at 22:49 #287391It would appear i was the only successful Ante-Post punter at Cheltenham this year,to hear people talk Nathan and now i have put up this "Workforce" for the 2000gns,everyone is jumping on! I was only a legend in my Living room last year, now i feel a bit like Robbie Williams! LOL!
You were the first to spot my talents mate on C4 chat!
April 4, 2010 at 14:11 #287477Here"s a horse for those that like betting in poor quality races,
Sphinx
at 23"s on the machine for the Mussleburgh Gold Cup today at 3.50pm! This horse used to give a stone to the likes of Bogside Theatre and Highland Legacy! The booking of Paul Mulrenan looks significant as he knows the horse well,i can see a big run from the 12yo!

Loser -£20
April 5, 2010 at 17:47 #287745I see
Imperial Commander
is a confirmed runner at Aintree this week,i personally would have put him away for the year now as his mission has been well and truly accomplished! It will be interesting now to see who will turn up as opposition!
April 5, 2010 at 19:38 #287778TAPK knows Lady luck needs to shine a plenty in the Grand National and David Casey will need her to be radiating beams on his injured back!If he does get the all clear i expect he will get a hellova ride from
Snowy Morning
in this years renewal, these pair managed 3rd in the race 2 years ago off virtually the same mark and again with their share of luck, winning would not be out of the question,i have backed this horse to small stakes from 75 down to 40 on Betfair and again at 25"s and 20"s e/w! Anyone who has their once a year bet has been given this fellow as my tip,if they have asked!

Loser -£50
April 5, 2010 at 20:15 #287789If those entered for this weeks Melling Chase stand their ground,we are in for a cracker! Albertas Run,Deep Purple, Voy Por Ustedes,Poquelin,Forpadydeplasterer,Jack the Giant! Tricky or what? The ground is a crucial factor here!
April 6, 2010 at 14:11 #287920Well i am of the opinion that
Golden Silver
is different class to his stablemate Jayo! He has already beat him easily at Levels and today he has to give him over a stone in heavy ground, the betting shows Jayo 9/4 and Golden silver 9/2,i personally see Perce rock as a bigger danger!I shall leave the race alone as Ruby knows more than me!Interesting though!

Well surprise surprise,4 horses running against the Champ!I shall cheer on
Calgary Bay
at 22"s on the machine as i have always thought highly of him! Imperial is the Cheltenham Commander and will be targeted with that one race in mind again next year! Beware this years Novices mind!

And the novice he may have most to fear off is one who has slipped under regarding next year’s Gold Cup!

Slipped under the radar thm? Well we all know Weapons,Somersby,Long Run etc! I would suggest
Burton Port
,he has plenty of scope for improvement! 70"s on the machine is tempting!! Tell me i"m right as usual thm?
April 7, 2010 at 09:52 #288178Whilst I agree with you TAPK, I feel Calgary Bay won’t come into his own until next year or even the year after, the "wrap in cotton wool" approach by Knight has been evident, and he’s been raced sparingly and correctly IMO, with the view that the GC 2011/2012 is the target. For this reason it might be that tomorrow won’t be his day, but at the likely odds (around 20/1?) he might be worth a saver at a course he’ll probably relish (was 4th on his only run at Aintree last year?). Nacarat remains my main hope in this race, though.
