April 14, 2012 at 16:18 #400575RIP Lad
April 14, 2012 at 16:31 #400592Didn’t believe it when I read it, because I saw the race and saw him get up and looking okay. RIP.
April 14, 2012 at 16:42 #400603RIP sweetheart, if only you hadn’t been cleared to race after unseating your jockey before the start. I think you knew
Gutted ! Thoughts with the stable staff and the person who rode you at the stables x rip xApril 14, 2012 at 17:54 #400650I was at Aintree and my initial joy with Neptune winning was completely removed when I found out about poor Synchronised. One minute he was posing there in front of me, proud with his lass then …
I had been willing and willing them NOT to run him … and this was confirmed when I saw him in the flesh – he just didn’t LOOK a National type – quite small and unsubstantial – yes I know he’s won a Gold Cup etc but it just didn’t seem right and I had that dread inside (similar to the night before my favourite One Man’s fatal injury – I’d "seen" the Racing Post’s headline in my "dream/nightmare" …) When Synchronised got loose I actually thought that this was a "sign" and he would hopefully NOT run ..
the memory of his face with that broad blaze, standing there in front of me will haunt me, probably for ever … as Alverton was another favourite and I still see his picture in my mind’s eye too …
So so so deeply sorry … RIP little man – you will not be forgotten …

TOTALLY AGREE TEN PLUS…..When he got loose I was so happy as he was almost certainly going to be withdrawn, but no as he was a high profile runner and mount of AP McCoy he had to be taken back and line up, it was a bad desicion to even run him today.
I have just heard the devasting news and had to log on here to confirm my worst fears. I just wouldn’t believe that he has gone, but now I know it’s true.
He was such a charismatic fella and I will miss him so much, I can’t even bear to think what his lass is going through tonight.
GOLD CUP WINNERS SHOULD NEVER RUN IN THE GRAND NATIOINAL as you illustrated with poor Alverton.
The thing which is killing me is that I was sure that I saw him get up after that fall, I saw his big white face.
I don’t think the Grand National will ever be the same again for me personally.
I wish they could be satisfield that a horse has run his heart out and won them a Gold Cup, but no they want more more and now this beautiful boy has paid the penalty.
Must stop this is just so sad…
RIP to a wonderful horse who deserved so much better than this.
You looked wonderful today, this is a tragedy
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 14, 2012 at 20:01 #400725He did get up and carried on riderless but then he made a hash of a fence and I think that’s where his injury must have happened … I know horses can carry on and even jump with 3 legs – I’ve seen it – but not for as far as he did and he did seem OK so I think in this case he was OK from the initial fall … I suppose we’ll know more tomorrow … can’t imagine what those close to him are going through … I don’t think I can look at all the photos I took – as he stood near to me during the parade with his lass … not tonight anyway …

Thank you I thought I was right, I was so relieved, but he wasn’t made to jump those fences he must have felt so lost…I am so angry that they ran him
He looked so beautiful today
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 14, 2012 at 20:33 #400742The other thing which made me feel uneasy is the way he reacted when AP took him to view the first fence – maybe it was because he was by himself but he was very edgey, ears back, not relaxed at all …
I so wish he’d dumped AP, then galloped rather than ambled off – then perhaps he would have been withdrawn … had AP been injured when he came off I assume no replacement jockey would have been permitted?April 14, 2012 at 20:33 #400743I was actually surprised he had even been entered … didn’t think he’d actually run …
April 14, 2012 at 21:31 #400753Me too, was looking on RP every day hoping that he would be taken out..finding it very hard to get over this one
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 14, 2012 at 21:36 #400754You are not alone …
April 14, 2012 at 21:59 #400759would like to see the photos of him today as i think it would be a fitting tribute. The bbc coverage about him being so relaxed and shots of his white face together with his dumping of AP and the look at the first fence must have touched all that watched today (millions)
He was a street fighter of a horse bred to do what he did and he got up and carried on – was in his nature.
I know its a hard knock to take but he was a fantastic animal – celebrate what he achieved.
my heart goes out to the stable staff that have lost their special one
rip fella
April 14, 2012 at 22:08 #400763I took quite a few photos today – in my mind I can see his lovely face, with that huge blaze, his kind eyes and his lass smiling … maybe tomorrow I can actually have a look at them and post some … can’t face it now …
