Thought I had it at the last; maybe outstayed on the ground. Hopefully a Champion contender next year
March 12, 2024 at 13:41 #1684830Great ride from Blackmore after he idled in front, to immediately get across for company to Mystical Power.
Value Is EverythingMarch 12, 2024 at 13:41 #1684831Sweated up pre race
Pulled hard
Bungled the lastWon anyway
Ballyburn must be a machine as that lad is clearly very good
March 12, 2024 at 13:44 #1684833Time was almost 24 sec slow and they clearly went steady enough so testing conditions abound.
March 12, 2024 at 13:47 #1684834Well done all of you on, that was convincing in the end.
March 12, 2024 at 13:47 #1684835Delighted with that, poor jumps three out and at the last and still one going away.
March 12, 2024 at 13:50 #1684838Well done winners. He was the sensible choice on that ground.
Think the placings will be reversed at Punchestown.
March 12, 2024 at 13:50 #1684841I don’t think its going to be strong form to be honest, my negative nelly in my head is telling me the giant claimer who can’t claim and it showed in the finish almost got 3rd, Mistergif got chopped up a bit near the end and wasn’t beaten that far, even Favour And Fortune barely jumped a hurdle wasn’t exactly out the back of the tv. The front two did pull a little bit clear in fairness, maybe they are immune to the critique of the race overall.
March 12, 2024 at 13:52 #1684842I think the ground played a big part in that result.
May never happen, but interesting to see if the front two were to meet again on better ground. I think the second is the quicker horse, and I would fancy him to turn it around.

Slade Steel is a year older, stronger and wiser than Mystical Power so yes I would think more improvement to come
March 12, 2024 at 14:00 #1684849Ground given for Hendo’s horse bombing out but not sure I can have that given that he won on oficially soft at Newbury (over 2m 69yds) in a overall time that was almost 4 sec slower than today’s race (over 2m 87yds).
March 12, 2024 at 14:27 #1684881You cant go near the Henderson horses , I don’t think this was an outstanding supreme but the winner did it very well
