I thought Sharjah had him beat personally.
Real Steel ran a strange race throughout really
January 2, 2018 at 22:40 #1335416Thought he was still green as grass, like Mullins basically said (only his fourth run). Pace was strong so caught him out initially, but he then got himself sorted and made headway. Sharjah travelled all over the field but compared to Real Steel he’s a lot more experienced which showed.
Mullins seemed to make out that the same horses that ran will be running in the Deloitte at the new Dublin Festival next month, and I hope to see a marked improvement from Real Steel there.
January 11, 2018 at 18:59 #1336920Lad of luck out tomorrow one of my early fancies (100s) for the race, hoping he runs well
Has he not been entered for this at the first stage as i can only see him in some markets now as opposed to them all

January 13, 2018 at 16:33 #1337331And for the first time this season we have our first clear Supreme favourite, and I can’t see that changing whatsoever before March. Mullins made noises about the possibility of steeping up in trip on better ground Cheltenham, but they would be mad not to let him take his chance in the Supreme after that.
It may depend on how good they think Sharjah is, but he settles so well he would be perfectly entitled to go for the Ballymore himself. If he wins the Deloitte I think that will be his target. Getabird – Supreme, Sharjah – Ballymore, and Next Destination – Albert Bartlett.
Let the Mullins bingo commence.
January 13, 2018 at 18:09 #1337370He was very impressive in fairness, lot of decent horses looking like mugs there. Time looks ok, nothing to get too excited about either.
I’d say reel steel & Getabird for Supreme; Sharjah & Next Dest for Ballymore; fabulous saga for AB. Where’s Sayar??
January 13, 2018 at 19:02 #1337375Sayar was my mullins pick before christmas herd he picked up a minor injury, but he was supposed to have been out by now….
January 13, 2018 at 21:02 #1337386The 3 best Novice hurdlers from the Mullins yard, based on the evidence to date, are Sharjah, Getabird and Next Destination. Ruby will have his say as always and I would expect the 3 to be kept apart. Unless they have any others who are good. Maybe Antey ran below form at Leopardstown.
If the above three are kept apart trying to guess where they’ll go is tough
January 14, 2018 at 00:51 #1337403Antey was apparently recovering from a wind op that day and was badly in need of the run. If that is the case then his run can be severely marked up in my opinion. Should be noted he drifted from 2/1 to 8/1 before the off, so that would give credence to the rumour.
Not sure he’s a Supreme winner in waiting though, the market rarely gets it wrong with Mullins horses in the opener.
January 18, 2018 at 16:11 #1337914I have been waiting and waiting for DELIRANT to run over hurdles. Looked like he might have gone for the bumper last year, but was a no show. I have been keeping an eye ever since as i really liked his form over in France.
I have heard absolutely nothing since!
priced up around 33/1 at a lot of firms but yet to run from what i can see unless i am missing something.
Does anyone have any news whatsoever on this horse as im scratching my head a little?
January 19, 2018 at 05:16 #1337993Champ finally runs Saturday for his first race over obstacles.
I’ve been asking Henderson about him all season and the reply has always been along the lines of ‘he’s an exciting novice hurdler who looked like being one of our best at the start of the season but has taken a long time to come to hand’.
Whilst it would take some effort to win the Supreme, he may get an entry if romping home on Saturday at Newbury.
January 19, 2018 at 09:55 #1338005Tommy, Snap. I have been waiting for Delirant to appear, looked a very smart horse in France, I wonder what Pipe is doing with him. I am also waiting for Damalisque, he had entries in Ireland over the Xmas period but never appeared, They are both owned by J P McManus, is the a plot going on?
January 19, 2018 at 13:32 #1338024Seems Strange, but I guess they are not well enough known for news to be coming out of the yard, nor would reporters be asking about these horses, giving they have bigger things to ask i guess.
Anyone able to advise if these horses have been declared for the supreme yet? What im trying to get at is if Pipe has actually entered Delirant into the supreme?
January 19, 2018 at 13:49 #1338027Tommy, 30th January is the initial entry stage for The Supreme.
