I wouldn’t rule out The Supreme for Neon Wolf. A prerequisite for a festival run appears to be cut in the ground. On day one , Supreme day, that comes with a guarantee courtesy of the Chelteham exec and their commitment for the meeting to open on ground no faster than good to soft.
After day one, they tend to let matters take their own course. Neptune on the Wednesday was run on good last year. Neon Wolf’s pace and jumping would ensure the Supreme presents no problems. He made a bigger impression on me than Altior did last year and I backed him for the Supreme after his debut.
January 24, 2017 at 19:56 #1283621Id be surprised if theyll run neon wolf in This (i think hes looked the most likely winner so far) but they seem certain on further and with finians oscar form taking a hit today i think neptune is the more likely if any.
Decent prices about saturnas and chateu conti right now on nrnb, saturnas might go further but worth a chance, especially with both likely to have another run and with a few to come out of the betting yet, likely much much shorter if they line up on thenday?Unless someone can tell me there not running
January 24, 2017 at 20:02 #1283623It doesn’t sound like JP to make actual decisions two months advance. It was essentially a speed test around Punchestown and I would have thought the greater stamina test at Cheltenham would be a big plus. Every chance he would have the potential to improve at least as much as any other likely entry.
I agree totally, I put him in the Ante Post comp on here straight away after the race.
Deloitte looks next up so they can think about it after that.Blackbeard to conquer the World
January 24, 2017 at 20:09 #1283624Crack Mome for me too at the prices
January 24, 2017 at 21:12 #1283629Skybet jut quoted me 80/1 for Betfair Hurdle / Supreme double on Consul De Thiax. Make stake £11 was annoying but still, happy with that.
January 24, 2017 at 22:04 #1283648Good luck with that project. Are people trying to compare Consul De Thaix to My Tent Or Yours??? My Tents was a 9lb better horse at their comparable points in time and still couldn’t win the Supreme. You’ve had a result only doing 11 bucks – in my opinion of course.

Owner may follow the same route for CDT as MTOY but I have not been comparing the two. If I were at their respective stages (and I am now comparing because you have said it), CDT has more Cheltenham experience and has been more impressive running behind the very talented now Champion Hurdle bound Brain Power, that MTOY was winning cl4 races at Huntington and Newbury.
January 24, 2017 at 22:33 #1283663He was recieving a stone and got a 5 length beating. CDT’s not even stuck his head in front yet. Listen,i hope you’ve found a nice angle. Personally,i wouldn’t back CDT for the Supreme with counterfeit

Get Me Out Of Here was 2nd in Supreme (beaten a head) for JP in 2010 after winning the Betfair Hurdle off 135 so if Consul De Thaix goes close then he will be entitled to go supreme.
January 25, 2017 at 00:19 #1283683Have to say, I’m envious of the whopping prices some people are holding on CDT. This race looks pretty weak.
If the horse that beat him at Ascot is a serious CH contender which I believe he will be (there are echoes of Rock on Ruby’s big weight handicap win the season he won the CH), then a five length defeat reads pretty well for a novice. I think it is some of the best form on show in this race.

LOL, is there a ‘Stupidest Post of the Year’ award? Early contender here.
nb. I’m not calling you wrong. You could well be right. You are however stupid. Sorry about that.

Definitely a contender.
January 25, 2017 at 12:13 #1283717Bit harsh…
January 25, 2017 at 12:54 #1283725Zark, I know you’ve nailed your colours to the CDT mast,so i don’t expect to get any support from you. An explanation into the ‘stupid’ quote would be appreciated though
January 25, 2017 at 14:34 #1283733Ok, I’ll explain it simply as I possibly can.
*My Tent Or Yours and Consul De Thaix are different horses.*
My colours are not nailed to any horse. I hope CDT wins as I’ve got £18 on him and I stand to win £3k. But these are novice hurdlers and there are still 6 weeks to go. I expect Capitaine (33s) and Jenkins (25s) to run very good races too. These are all value bets.
January 25, 2017 at 14:41 #1283737Zark, you have the ability to analyse races well but some of your posts are offensive and don’t belong on TRF imo.
Like everyone else, you’re entitled to question anybody’s judgement in public, but not their motives or their personality.
January 25, 2017 at 14:53 #1283740Agreed. I’m struggling to understand how that was ‘stupidest post of the year’.
Perhaps the comment slightly too black and white but he has a point 9lb is a lot of difference and CDT would very much struggle at this moment in time however as you say these are novices so it is possible the the 9lb of improvement needed is possible. I would also factor in that this supreme novice seems to me to be one of the weakest in years so potential less than 9lbs is needed to win it!
I guess the most important thing is that you have great value.
Of course my tent or yours was much higher rated before his supreme 2nd but the odds reflected that.
CDT could improve and become a lively contender and it’s great value at 50/1 or whatever you guys got it at!
However I do feel he will fall short of winning and I believe charli parcs were he to run would be McManus first string and if Jenkins was fully tuned I think CDT could end up NJH’s 3rd string -
