The best jumper of a hurdle I have seen this year is Lough Derg Spirit, was available at massive odds after his flop at Ascot. but still available @ 30/1 or more. That defeat may have been down to the ground or maybe the stable was out of sorts as both the hendersons horses who were fav and second fav were well beaten in that race.

Flop?

He won today on good. He won very impressively on his debut at Kempton on soft. He finished 4th at Ascot on good to soft. So why would that defeat be down to the ground? He clearly acts on both good and soft, so why not good to soft?
or maybe the stable was out of sorts as both the hendersons horses who were fav and second fav were well beaten in that race.
Or maybe the market just didn’t have a frickin’ clue
still available at 30/1 or more
All while the horse who beat him 8 1/2L is available at 36+
February 6, 2017 at 10:16 #1286074You’re talking about Chateau Conti? He’s recorded a higher RPR than Melon has. Still needs to find about half a stone but he’s definitely in with a shout. I’d far rather back him than Melon at the prices. He needs to run again though.
If chateau and melon were the same price – knowing what we know and have seen, which would you back? The question is open to everyone
Which ever one Ruby rides
February 6, 2017 at 11:08 #1286107Couldnt pick one if they were the same price, but given the prices chateau conti is the obvious choice
Both have done nothing, one is about the correct price one is totally wrong
Agree with vautour if neither ran again it would come down to whoever ruby got on
February 6, 2017 at 17:53 #1286176I’ve followed your advice Zarkava and got some 38’s at the exchanges.

Moon Racer unraced since that win and I’d be most surprised now if we don’t see him in the Champion Hurdle assuming he is fit to run at the festival. They have a very fragile 8-y-o who’s been seen just 6 times on a racecourse. They’ve always thought a lot of him and the CH is weak on paper.
February 7, 2017 at 10:35 #1286250Can’t have moon racer watching that video
February 7, 2017 at 11:23 #1286258Id rather have capitaine than moon racer watching that video, beat keep in line a little further giving him weight
February 7, 2017 at 11:53 #1286267Consul De Thaix to win betfair hurdle in impressive fashion and go to the head of the supreme market. Get on now lads
February 7, 2017 at 14:20 #1286281Moon Racer straight to the Festival after a 5-month break…? Melon cut to 11/4? LOL
Surely no doubt now that Moon Racer has had injuries. Why would you give a novice hurdler 5 months off on purpose? He was supposed to run in January but didn’t.
February 7, 2017 at 14:31 #1286285Yeah it’s a serious worry for me and his form isn’t amazing anyway.
People keep saying he has the bat form in the race because he’s won a grade 2 but he had the run of the race and other met trouble or were keen and it wasn’t a strong race anyway.
I’m totally off MR for those 2 reasonsP.s charli parcs
February 7, 2017 at 14:44 #1286289I may as well reveal my dark horse for this as I’m not going to get anymore juice out of him.
Glaring
Group runner on the flat, rated 100+, won very well on his hurdling debut from Burbank and Top Tug. Burbank won next time out and Top Tug finished 2nd to High Bridge, who was getting 7lbs.
Was in the process of running a stormer at Kempton and I have no doubt he’d have beaten Elgin had he not made a big mistake at one of the hurdles up the straight.
IMO he should be a 20/1 shot.
Unfortunately I took my eye off the ball for a couple of days so some lucky git got all the 600s+, but I’ve got him to win £4.8k to a £13 stake. He’s entered this weekend at Newbury and Exeter.
February 7, 2017 at 14:53 #1286292Does anyone else think that there a chance that last years supreme novice hurdle was one of the best ever. I.e there could be a lot of superstars come out of it. Just like the Al ferof year – cue card Sprinter scare etc.
ALTIOR who looks like he could be a world beater.
MIN Ruby likened to Kauto star
BUVUER DAIR – current FAV for champion hurdle. If he wins champion then how far would Altior of won champion hurdle by?
Charbel- may not look fantastic at the moment but he’s the only horse this season to make Altior work a little and I think is still a very good chaser.
Petit mouchoir – improved shed loads and could easily win the championFebruary 7, 2017 at 15:12 #1286295Yes, the form of the Supreme is working out nicely. You can add Supasundae into the mix, who’ll prove to be very good over 2m 4f+. I think he finished 9th in the Supreme. Bellshill 11th too?
February 8, 2017 at 00:24 #1286400Every year I cock this up. Only horse I haven’t got on that counts…..Moon Racer
