Timepiece won the Sandringham at Royal Ascot last year on officially good-firm, times suggested it was firm. Also ran right up to form on penultimate start on good-firm when third to Goldikova and Sahpresa. "Flattered" in the Falmouth, but it’s possible this might work out the same. Timepiece’s improvement this term is more to do with a better temperament, a win in lesser company doing her the world of good. Prominent runner and may even lead. All others hold up horses, but of course that could change today. Can’t see Sahpresa too far behind, surely they’ve learnt from the Falmouth? Alanza is an improving three year old, but she’s also a hold up filly. Races this week at Newmarket greatly favoured prominent runners with a strong tail wind. However, the test of speed rather than stamina may well suit Chachamaidee and woth a bet. Almost backed her each way myself but plumped for win bets on

    Timepiece

    and

    Chachamaidee

    with a saver on

    Sahpresa

. Make no mistake, without pace worries the French horse would be a lot shorter.
I’m A Dreamer’s stand out performance came with a head wind, the opposite of today. Having plenty of cover and coming with a late run in a truly run race. Together seems exposed as just below top class and probably needs to improve to win today. Has a poor win to run ratio and may not be straightforward. Strawberrydaqueri lost form after going on her travels, leaving Sir Michael. Not much encouragement first run for Meehan, but stable in great form now. Probably the reason for the market move at massive odds. Music Show another who hasn’t shown anything this term, now visored for the first time. Not be at all surprised to see her go from the front, after Channon’s change of tactics on Samitar almost paid off.

Mere speculation that the owner has Timepiece in the race and also would she go on top of the ground.

Interesting assessment Ginger, Sahpresa looks an improved horse this season, she won the race on good/firm 2 years ago beating Ghaanati, nothing of that quality today, however she’s 6 and mares have a tendency to put a below par effort in once in a while. If she runs her race she ought to be too good for the rest.
