I saw him last when he was in the bathroom about half an hour ago hiding under a stone. I am now sitting in an old winged armchair and rose late this afternoon having been bushy tailed up at 430am this majestic morning with Moet &co pulling in the in the new Year by its roots after clubbing the oldun. Well, a HAPPY NEW YEAR to ALL – old and young in that order. I encountered Jack Frost yesterday with an unfortunate hand shake and ruddy unfortunate as I awoke to the accompaniment of a running tap like nose, a slightly inflamed throat, and an occasional cough. Not the best way to start the New period and possibly indicative of the past year now under the belt.

I am paying truffle town and have looked in over the past years and may pop in occasionally, but will not be the prolific scriber of old. I tip my hat to the giant slayer Nathan and memory man Yeats and the rest of the racing fraternity and special cheeses in were …sneeze.

Matron I am sure your little grey cells are up on that time Zass called me a vegetable an onion ti be exact and, accordingly to him, having just prepped myself to be peeled by an ” inappropriate ” and irreverent posting must be all of 15 year ago plus a couple and I have referenced it to you before. Zoz, daisy meshaheer – her god Davies – cybermum, hubby Nev – clocked JTS – one fingered Pewter -the old breed and many tissues of words under many a bridge, with the odd lake formed and dissapated since then.
Well Aaron, my impromptu sighting is just part and parcel of the strange comings and goings that went before, and the pre evident darker age the so called and well remembered but foreboding – Year of the witch. A lot of pruning since then on the edge and interior of town; including the historical references including all the bats spats and cracks in the hitchcock inspired epic – The edge of reezan. Gamble’s old bible if you will !

It is great to see the old place still in one piece, more or less, and functioning. I have always appreciated the backroom boys who put in the time

    Gamble,

Certainly some names from the past.

Zoz was great pals with Zome if I remember correctly.

I loved how you managed to slip-in Razeen & Lake.

Yes indeed Matron and their names coincidentally bore the same first two letters ZO so a natural pairing. I suppose they are most likely bumbling about some place Zoz was a brickie capabilities and could build a wall.
Whether escorial still runs that merseyside forum where Kathy migrated to – is a long shot I would say. A favourite short thread that holds firm in my memory was tbe taciturn Keith the Teeth’s blah, blah, blah, where he announced people were boring him to death and he was finally leaving. He posted a bit on betfair – hope I am not muxing him up with the flutter boys – I do not think I am.

Anyway, although you have been bread and butter on here for a long time Nathan, he was before your time.
I am in a somewhat worse condition today and with a raised temperature of 36.3 with aches and a headache to boot. That would be normal to most but almost 2 degrees high for me. Over a hundred years ago one of my relatives joined a trawler crew and ended up tieing the knot with a kipper. Our family geneology was from that time on, spoken about in the corners of drinking houses in hushed and ribald tones. Since that day onwards,or rather a little later when progeny ensued, a low core body temperature has been a consistent family trait, and I can be found most early mornings splashing about happily in an icy cold bath. I also have a passion for fish.

I will return when fully recovered – one can write bad things,in the heat of a delirious moment. I am like a fish outta water !

Good to know you’re still alive, well and cool Gamble

2521 posts from the benthic zone, hmm…I could have sworn you were a member of the 5K Club

Very fishy: have you spent your sabbatical erasing your internet history lest those sprats one day rise and nibble your dorsal?

A sleeping dwarf has woken on the forum that must not be named: Mr Pilsen the Wolfman, who mentioned you approximately 2521 nanoseconds before you woke up here

    Fishier and fishier

    Tight lines :good:

I saw gamble on the UsersOnline list at the bottom of the page if you scroll down, hence why I started the thread, nothing fishy on my behalf, young Drone.

    My detective thoughts are

    ‘has gamble been hacked’?
    The lay-out of his
    posts, are not
    as I re-membered
    Only person
    likely to try
    zillions of combos
    to break in
    would be
    Mr P
    Though I would
    think he would
    do a lay-out

Thicky Lake on the other hand….!!

Blame it on the bacteria I say, and I am still taking the pilsen but have been suffering from vertigo to boot, this last week that means I cannot rig the mainsail and have to prostate myself on the floor when its bad, close all orifices, with a bucket at hand and do a novel casting characterization for Ryan’s daughter on all fours at best – the village idiot.
Drone and Nathan greetings and I will get to back to you on wallpaper, bread and butter, cliques, and the ol’ conspiracy theories at a less rocky or should that be ricky time.

ps Zoz could build a yorkshire wall brick on brick – no cement – I remember her picture so well, as I do the photogenic Zome’s ,as ckearly as Redman’s feather and Sky’ brother’s essential trouser press in his Bermuda hotel – or am I mistaken – was it JimJTS who was equally as outspoken as salsabil…will be back after the storm and rue my long lost hour long posting ( No advice Drone – I know )

No it was salsabil for sure – just mentioned the time accurate- daylight sensitive – ol’ curmudgeon JTS as I miss him nearly as much as the irreverent jilly boots or Pewter’s provocative finger.
I may akso write of giants when my balance is back, and that jogging my memory – the sadly missed balance was such a giant poster to me, and a highjacker of notable merit..always to be missed.

Ricky got wind of your return Gamble.
he posted a thread of the betfair forum – ‘Snaith’

    SlippyBlue, replied

“I’m so glad gamble is still around, I got him “unbanned” from here years ago when he was rattling a few cages (for fun)and people just did not know how to deal with him and he certainly did ruffle a few feathers on our horse racing forum. He (John) used to get involved with Don Butler (Cubone) often and it was a huge clash of egos which I scored it as gamble always won on points but only just! Both strong characters fighting for the same limelight! Laugh”
