Willitgoahead 10-1 ew
January 18, 2026 at 15:33 #1750969I have a soft spot for old Lifetime Ambition , not quoted for this but I have a pound on him today.

Put in a couple eye-catching P2P performances this season and very interesting going forward from here and so unexposed at 3 miles ( shouldn’t have been chasing over 2 miles at 8yrs old )
January 28, 2026 at 12:22 #1752229Don’t know why my last post was removed, but just to confirm I don’t have a selection for this race at the moment.
January 28, 2026 at 20:52 #1752288Hi Mike – your post was removed as we were unsure of the validity of your cash out but you’ve since confirmed to me that you cashed out for a loss on your original selection Willitgoahead.
January 29, 2026 at 06:42 #1752305OK, so Mike hasn’t “cashed out” in the sense he wants us to believe. He has finally had to admit he has made a loss. Something which experienced punters who understand how the game works knew anyway.
Given how much the horse drifted after its poor run, I suspect he has “cashed out” for a fraction of his stake. No one would have had any problem with that if he had admitted it at the time and said at what price he “cashed out”.
There have been plenty of other occasions, an example being on pages 3 and 4 of the Derby 2024 thread. I only attach it to show it is not just me who has an issue with his “cash outs”:
January 29, 2026 at 07:05 #1752307January 29, 2026 at 07:40 #1752314It is my last word on the subject, now Mike has admitted he placed a losing bet. There is nothing wrong with losing – it just grates when he tries to imply he has got his money back.
Almost all his “cash outs” will be losing bets. Something to bear in mind the next time he exclaims “Get In” two seconds after a 5/4 chance wins.
And to claim he didn’t know why his post was removed, after admin’s clear warning over on the Unibet Hurdle thread…
January 29, 2026 at 07:44 #1752315To be fair I reckon most of know Mike will struggle to make a decent profit punting shorties continuely, it’s his money , I tend to punt at larger prices , this saw a successful Nov and Dec however I’m behind in Jan .. To each there own
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 29, 2026 at 09:17 #1752322Thunder Rock runs today at Wincanton , surely heading here if showing some of his old form

January 29, 2026 at 14:22 #1752372“it just grates when he tries to imply he has got his money back.”
I didn’t imply or mean to imply anything. A cash out is a click of a button on a bookie website (if available) where an amount is returned and the selection is cancelled. That’s all I said i did, that I had cashed out. I didn’t mention any other activity in relation to the transaction e.g. profits, loss, monetary amounts, because I didn’t feel comfortable doing so, it was a personal choice. My intention was never to deceive anybody, and I apologise if it gave that impression, it was just a way of letting people know that particular horse wasn’t my selection any more.
“Something to bear in mind the next time he exclaims “Get In” two seconds after a 5/4 chance wins.”
A ‘get in’ is a happy moment when i’ve been lucky enough to back a winner. That’s all it is.
January 29, 2026 at 14:32 #1752373Guys I reckon it’s time to let it lie
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 29, 2026 at 15:48 #1752382Just to bring things back on topic, Paul Nichols has had a few runners in Hunter Chases recently with his daughter Olive jocked up. Be interesting to see what he enters prior to the race, hes won it before, could be looking to sneak.
February 21, 2026 at 01:17 #1755506Not a race I’d spend too much time on at this stage, so with nothing else on the radar at the moment, bar maybe Conflated, I’ll go the sentimental route with my old pal Stattler
Well aware that there’s plenty in there who’ll have more suitable profiles, and wouldn’t read too much into recent runs, but he’ll be the selection.
Haven’t bet yet, as hopeful I could get better on the day
Edit – Won’t be having an Antepost, and the more I look at Stattler, the more it’ll be a sentimental selection. Last two runs clearly not good enough
Swaying towards Music Drive, Golden Son, or Wrappedupinmay
Decided at Final Decs to just go with Stattler, for all he’s got work to do, and maybe not the ideal profile for this
Music Drive 50’s EW/55’s
Stattler 19.5’sMarch 12, 2026 at 20:30 #1759161I tend to follow John O’Shea’s runners at Aintree as he admits to targeting there over Cheltenham, but he has a couple in here worth a second look such as his Aintree Foxhunter hero from last year Gracchus De Balme who is a more likely stayer than his ultra consistent Barton Snow, but it’s hard to ignore all those 1s next to his name.
Linelee King’s form ties in with Gracchus De Balme (through Music Drive) so if I fancy one, I have to fancy the other. I’m surprised he’s as big as he is.
I really don’t want four in this, but I keep going back to Shearer who wasn’t beaten out of site in this last year and has Gina Andrews on board this time (no shade on Olive Nichols who is improving with every ride, but Gina is a different level).
I didn’t anticipate getting quite so stuck into this
March 12, 2026 at 21:22 #1759188I backed Stattler 3 weeks ago , I’ll be going in again , Patrick’s on ( he’s ok in amongst this lot ) and more importantly headgear , hoping for a big run
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
March 12, 2026 at 21:34 #1759193Always find it hard to value these ones. Small bet on King Alex who ran decent enough the last few times.
King Alex 66/1 EW
