If ever a horse deserved a break it is this one as Hendo has reported that the horse is now fighting an infection after fracturing his pelvis in the Unibet Hurdle.
This off the back of recovering from the serios infection he had in the ligaments to his near hind leg he suffered almost a year ago.
Fingers crossed he can recover from yet another injury setback
February 5, 2026 at 17:19 #1753586Just hope they can get on to o this infection in his hind leg
poor boy doesn’t deserve thisVf x
February 5, 2026 at 19:57 #1753611I wonder is being on antibiotics last year has weakened his bones and his immunity. I just don’t like the sound of what’s happening; he seems to be a very fragile horse. Poor thing.
February 6, 2026 at 08:06 #1753648Awful news to hear. I hope the horse makes a full recovery.
February 6, 2026 at 08:07 #1753649Getting to the point where the most we can hope for is a healthy horse, but a healthy racehorse is seeming a stretch.
Maybe a hail mary coneygree type of effort in the future but its got to be unlikely he’ll see a racecourse again.
February 6, 2026 at 22:35 #1753718As long as he gets through this awful infection, he can live out his life in early retirement.
So worried about him, please let him be ok.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...February 24, 2026 at 16:38 #1756095Not really positive news:
Providing an update on Tuesday, the trainer said: “He’s still at the hospital because nothing’s really changed. It’s very important that he doesn’t deteriorate.
“He’s going to be there for the foreseeable term. It’s all to do with the infection and keeping that under control is crucial. It can still go wrong but at the moment it’s all under control.”
February 24, 2026 at 17:18 #1756099Can’t say I am that surprised by the update – but he is in the best place to be treated and all we can do is just continue to hope for the best possible outcome.
I am starting to wonder though if we are ever likely to see him back on the racecourse again as he seems to be rather injury prone as in three seasons with Hendo he has managed 3 races in his first season and just two races in each of the last two seasons.
At this stage I will just be happy that the horse makes a full recovery from this and lives a happy life, regardless of whether that is as a racehorse or a former racehorse.
February 24, 2026 at 18:56 #1756126Hope they can keep the infection under control he is in the best place, just want to see him get better and retired

February 24, 2026 at 19:22 #1756132Can’t help but feel that the ongoing use of antibiotics has and is ruining the poor horses gut biome and immunity and if he’s been on steroids in the past weakened his bones. I think he’s going to be fragile for the rest of his life. Someone on Facebook said it would be nice to see him with the legends at the Irish National stud. Don’t think he’ll ever be capable of anything competitive in the future.
