There would be less racing on tv if it wasn’t for Godolphin as they bailed out channel four so that helps me out a bit!
Its sad to hear that so-called racing fans could be so opposed to healthy competition. *cough* Flash
Are you sure its not a bit deeper coz i cant believe the purchase of horses (using their own cash, not yours!) to be raced and appreciated on earth (they aint got a course on the moon yet) could infuriate you.
Or are you just fiercely patriotic with a tendency to forget yourself sometimes?

    Oh my god.

Look through every single post I’ve ever made and see if I’ve ever abused anyone. I think you’ll find I don’t but if you are trying to accuse me of racism mate you’re a moron and seriously need to get a life if you think there has to be a racial motive behind my comment.

Sorry Admin but the incinuation was totally uncalled for.

I don’t much like Dettori either but that’ll be because he’s white then, ooops no scrub that because he’s Italian then.

    Grow up.

If the Arabs pulled out of British racing, that includes the breeding operation. Dead on its feet is not an exageration.

Presumably the same would apply then if Coolmore pulled out of Irish racing then?

Yes it would – and Aidan’s right. The loss of any organisation that size that is involved not only in owning and breeding, but also extensively in sponsorship and employment would be a crippling blow for the industry – whether Ireland if Coolmore pulled out or Britain if the Maktoum family withdrew their support.

Between the two organisations – and largely because of the rivalry between them – British and Irish racing have benefitted hugely.

But on the other hand monopolies aren’t good either. Look at the Premiership football its uncompetitive the same couple of teams win major honours every year. In terms of business it may be a success but in terms of sport and competition its awful.

There is nothing positive about one organisation buying almost every decent two year old. Does anyone really want it to get to a stage where almost every runner is a Godolphin horse? Might as well run the races in their own back garden.

Say Coolmore and Godolphin went bust tomorrow – yes jobs would be lost BUT racing would still carry on. There would still be horses there would still be sport, racing doesn’t need them like people think it does.

Look at jumps racing that doesn’t have major organisations on the scale of Coolmore or Godolphin but its in terrific shape.

There should be some sort of law in my opinion to stop the likes of Godolphin buying up all these good two year olds – that isn’t what I call sport and its turning me off the flat.

To be honest mate you’re not even worth a reply. I’ll debate with anyone who wants to do it sensibly, people who come out with the sort of thing you have I really can’t be bothered with.

Not sure about the feeling that UK/Irish racing would be crippled without Godolphin/Coolmore.

No doubt that it would be a big setback but as one door closes another one opens. Who’s to say that the absence of the Big 2 would not spur others to increase their interests or enter the scene?

We’ve seen mega concerns come and go before and we’ll see others after.

There are a lot of very rich people around with fat wallets and big ego’s and some would step into the limelight if there was a vacancy.

LOL i recommend you give up following sport. Sport attracts money. Deal with it. In the mean time, try and enjoy what horses are there for all to see,no matter who owns them. Why would anyone give a feck!!?? it baffles me.
