Johnston and Channon seem to get a number of his sons horses which when those trainers show suroor how to do it, get transferred to godolphin.

The horses that used to run in sheik Mo’s colours have been transferred to his wife Princess Haya. I can’t pretend to have checked out her trainers, but I’d guess they aren’t much different to the ones you list.

August 26, 2008 at 15:49 #178257Thanks Richard I didn’t know about Princess Haya.
What happened to all those Maktoum Al Maktoum horses that Sheikh Mohammed inherited on his older brothers death. I still see the odd one or two running for Stoutey under the name Gainsborough but I see none for two stables who had dozens of them Barry Hills and Ed Dunlop. Did Sheik Mohammed transfer them to one of his relatives too. That must have been a crushing blow for Ed to lose his chief patron like that, he probably had fifty of them every year.

What was Gainsborough now operates as Rabbah Bloodstock – friends and family of Sheik Mo their web site says. Personally, don’t know much about R B, but here’s a lnk to their website.

August 29, 2008 at 09:32 #178524This latest development with Andre Fabre is a great and smart move by the Sheikh but I just hope it doesn’t mean his european operations will be based out of France.
PS I also left out Willie Hastings Bass (AKA Lord Huntingdon) out of my fairly comprehensive list of British and Irish Sheikh M trainers.
August 29, 2008 at 14:46 #178555Ed Dunlop seems to have suffered badly as a result of these changes…
Seems to have dropped off the radar since Ouija Boards retirement and the retraction of support from Gainsborough..
