Winning owner heaping praise on the staff as the most important people that should get all the accolades for the horse winning and saying that owners should (in the words of THe Rock) ‘No your role and shut your mouth’, the fact he was being interviewed by Chapman was rather ironic.
We don’t know what would have happened had Fact To File had run it wasn’t a forgone conclusion.
The more I know the less I understand.
I don’t want to take anything away from anyone who backed the winner but it is a disgraceful decision to withdraw Fact To File. And Mullins should be on a charge for his comments about the ground.
Apparently it is not OK for an English jockey to have a word with an Irish jockey but it is OK for an Irish trainer to tell an English clerk how to prepare his racecourse.

I like Heart Wood but he’s a G2 horse. That’s one of the worst Ryanairs of all time.
Jonbon was burnt out from a hard season, Impaire Et Passe is an underachiever and Banbridge couldn’t string 2 good runs together.
An absolute joke of a race after the Fact To File Scandal.
Chase course is clearly quicker than the hurdles course as the race was fast by 3.66s and over 2s faster than the time Fact To File recorded when beating Heart Wood is last years race.
That being said it is clearly not unsafe ground and FTF should have been perfectly capable of running to his form on it.

Well if that is true then it certainly takes a lot of gloss off what the non-running fav did last year since he beat Heart Wood lol
He’s not GM he’s a grade 1 horse , he’s just won one , it might not be the greatest but it’s a grade 1 none the less

Spot on, Nathan. The false starts make racing look utterly incompetent and then the best horse at the meeting gets pulled out for a spurious reason.
Racing really doesn’t help itself sometimes.
To be perfectly honest I do not understand the need for tape at the start anyway, if the race has a false start the tape is sprung to stop horse/jockey getting caught up in it so would it matter if it wasn’t there in the first place? Heck, they ended up starting one race today by flag instead of reattaching the tape after a false start.
To me they should reconfigure all the starts that horses have to come around a bend so that it is a straight line into the start, so those on the outside don’t have to go faster than those on the inside to keep up – in big field that is the biggest issue causing these false starts.
They were never going to run both Jonbon & Fact To File in the race. Do they get fined for withdrawing the fav? They should do.
