My Allaho 15-2 ticket looking ok after that. Looks like he still maintains plenty of ability.
December 5, 2021 at 17:30 #1570883When was he 15/2?
I have him in plenty of multis placed straight after last years fez and have nothing above 5s
December 5, 2021 at 18:59 #1570899When he crossed the line last year. I wanted to be on after it.
December 5, 2021 at 19:02 #1570901No one think they may have a go at the GC with Allaho
December 5, 2021 at 19:04 #1570902Nope. He wont get up the hill over that distance.
December 5, 2021 at 21:16 #1570927Well…he was 3rd in the RSA at the age of 6, finishing a length behind last season’s gold cup winner who is a year older than Allaho. If he has strengthened up and settled down since then, perhaps he could be competitive over the GC trip.
December 5, 2021 at 21:19 #1570929They’ve a young enough horse in APT who arguably could still be improving.
Surely you keep them apart and have him defend his Ryanair.
If you’re CPS.
Perhaps if you’re WPM and you’ve only Al Boum Photo you might consider trying to persuade them to chance it.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!December 5, 2021 at 21:26 #1570930Understand they may well want to win both but ….I’d throw both darts at the big one , how often could you go for the GC with 2 such horses
December 5, 2021 at 21:26 #1570931I think hed definitely stay 3 miles strongly enough to win a grade 1 now hes older and more physically mature than he was in the RSA
Not sure about getting the gold cup trip though
Hed have them strung out like the washing though at the top of the hill if they tried it
Would be a serious stamina test if he ran

Allaho and A Plus Tard are the same age. Allaho has had 9 chase starts, APT 12.
APT has already tried and failed to win the Gold Cup.
It’s possible Allaho has topped out… he’s a very big horse and his wind or legs could give bother. But I don’t think Cheveley Park would mind running them both in the big race if they both had a chance. Willie not really coming down with Gold Cup contenders this year either- Janidil might be I suppose.December 5, 2021 at 21:36 #1570936Will he sent Al boum again …..the forgotten horse
December 5, 2021 at 21:41 #1570938I know GAG, but that’s not to say APT is arguably improving still, considering he’s ran 3 races at 3m+ over fences?! His jumping in last year’s GC wasn’t ideal, if that’s improved like Haydock looked, then perhaps, he will have improved enough.
I’d say WPM might be the one that would push towards it, but then again, he’s been banging the 2m drum in all his tours etc. So again, that makes it unlikely to me.
He’s entered in 2m>3m so it’s possible, but unless APT gets an injury or something, i’d say he’s defending his Ryanair crown.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!December 5, 2021 at 21:44 #1570939I’m sure he’ll send him. And it’ll rank among the training performances of the century if he regains his title at the age of 10.
December 5, 2021 at 21:47 #1570941Gag he may be 10 but there,s few miles on the clock , it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he ran another big race , can you remember the previous champion who came back and was placed at 12 ?
December 5, 2021 at 21:48 #1570942“he’s been banging the 2m drum in all his tours etc.”
He’ll put that lambeg down if Energumene keeps winning
He has said several times that Allaho jumps like a 2 miler- I don’t see that looking at him and never have. He also said that he never jumped left before, but he has.December 5, 2021 at 21:49 #1570944“can you remember the previous champion who came back and was placed at 12 ?”
I’m old enough to remember Dessie winning it at 10!
December 5, 2021 at 21:51 #1570945Lol yes but who was placed at 12
