Alberta’s Run is the best two-and-a-half miler around. Great ride+run, hope you joined me in backing him
(And no, that’s not aftertiming, because I’m SURE I’ve tipped him up on here somewhere!)

So don't run, just like the others always do

lol, didn’t back him but should’ve, well done and I will definitely be backing him in the Melling with no Monets Garden to worry about this time.

There’ll be at least one daft ex-pat painting Thailand red tonight.

Great for Fist, wherever he is.
When the sun is shining in spring, the ground is good, the track is Cheltenham, the pace is slow and AP takes him wide….. Get On Alberta’s Run.
I thought the horse’s mind had gone. Oops!
Just needs a certain set of circumstances.Poquelin is best in handicaps, where pace is better, has no turn of foot. Knew my fate early. Lee rode a poor race (imo). Dropped out in a steadily run race, despite not being a hard puller. Kalahari King ran an even better race than distances suggest. First and Third prominent throughout.

What a great run…smashing jumper. Only a 6yr old. Impressive
March 17, 2011 at 16:55 #345765And what an effort from ol’ Voy Por Ustedes.
Quite a few questioned the decision to bring him back, but he travelled well, raced with enthusiasm and finished in front of last years second and third.
He should come on for a run and we could see another Master Minded / Voy Por Ustedes clash at Aintree.
March 17, 2011 at 17:09 #345767At the Newbury Cheltenham Preview, Tom Symonds (Nicky’s assistant) said they could not believe how well Voy Por had improved since they got him. but would need the race. Melling Chase is his main target.
Value Is EverythingMarch 17, 2011 at 21:29 #345816Arrived at the course at 10.50am – sun beginning to come through – by 12.30 it was warm and sunny – track looked dry – i thought this is ideal for McCoy and Albertas Run – did not disappoint.
13/2 on course – an absolute steal in those conditions! Me and the wife are v Happy this eve!
March 17, 2011 at 21:43 #345819Great race and smashing performances from the first three. Rubi Light confirmed the favourable impression I had gained from his last Irish start. Really pleased for Alberta’s and connections, especially AP.
Have to say though that I thought Kalahari King was given far too much to do. You can’t give a horse of Alberta’s quality that much of a start.
March 18, 2011 at 01:27 #345871I think that was the gamest win of the festival. Albertas refused to be beaten. Pretty good ride from a jockey that’s supposedly can’t ride ’em over fences.
