Are further onboard “fires” avoided by moving all other ships out of range of Ukraine missiles?
Is said onboard “fire” grounds for vowing to bomb Kyiv ever more heavily in retaliation?
Both sides like to give it large, but I know who I’m believing over this one.
Those with long memories will remember the General Belgrano and The Sun’s headline.
What’s Ukrainian for “GOTCHA!”

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"April 15, 2022 at 15:51 #1593786I don’t know Ian, who was it said they had moved back. I’m not disputing
that they did, just not sure where it came from and it would in any case
make sense. I’m not saying it wasn’t hit by a missile some 60 miles out,
it’s quite possible. The point I’m making is that either scenario is a
headache for Putin. So it’s a win win situation.April 15, 2022 at 19:47 #1593835Oh come in Bigg. A fire onboard isn’t going to sink a ship like that. What do you think the ship was ? Made out of wood?
The Russians are simply useless. The reason? I’m reading Hitler and Stalin by Lawrence Rees at the moment. A fine book. Both leaders made idiotic strategic decisions. Why? Because no one would tell the, what they didn’t want to hear. Familiar?
Those that fawn over “strong men” should take note. It’s always crap
April 15, 2022 at 20:42 #1593843Tough one re hitler.
He needed oil and resources. Was a big risk sending 80% of his army to take russia and their resources. t where else would he have got them?
I guess he could of got them from the usa had they continued to want to play the arms salesman without morals…April 15, 2022 at 21:34 #1593851Clive did you actually bother to read my post. I said a fire on board was Feasible
but it would take an act of sabotage to set off missiles. This obviously wasn’t just
a fire. It was either struck by a missile or set off by someone with the intention
of sinking her.Who’s fawning over strong men ?
April 16, 2022 at 08:25 #1593908I was talking rhetorically. Yes there are some that do but no one who is contributing to this thread presently
April 16, 2022 at 10:04 #1593948Ian, for my own understanding are you praising that “GOTCHA” Sun headline. I’ll probably incur someone’s wrath here but I found it distateful.
April 16, 2022 at 10:10 #1593952Colin, I would have thought you knew my writing here well enough by now to know that I only ever say what I mean and only ever mean what I say.
I don’t infer or imply things – I either say it (because I believe it) or I don’t (because I don’t).
If I wanted to praise that 1982 headline, I would have done.
I didn’t.
That said, if a 40-year old headline from an obnoxious right-wing rag, which targets the hard of thinking, serves as a vehicle to amplify a point here in 2022, I will deploy it thus!
I hope that clears up the matter for you, sir!

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"April 16, 2022 at 10:58 #1593972Yes. Very upsetting to see some satisfaction at defeating Russian forces
Now imagine how upsetting it will be when it’s actually understood that the self same forces rape and execute civilians?
Including a 3 year old toddler. Want to see the video ?
Colin. Don’t you think the left should perhaps get over The Sun for once ? I could point to columns on the guardian by their ex comment editor and corbyn advisor strongly supporting 9 11, Stalin and the Iranian regime. That is to anyone with liberal decency genuinely offensive
April 16, 2022 at 12:35 #1594020One day nationalism will be declared an illness…
Who was this quote from?
“All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.””
April 16, 2022 at 13:34 #1594052Clive, I read The Guardian but I don’t agree with all of their columnists.
As for The Sun headline, call me a tree-hugger but I will not glory in the deaths of servicemen who were doing their duty, whatever uniform they are wearing.
I know you love winding people up and a lot of what you has a lot of tongue in your cheek but some of your posts come over as being very callous and I don’t think you are.
April 16, 2022 at 13:50 #1594056Fair enough. It was a silly point by me. And I’m no fan of the sun at all
I am very callous colin. I take offence at that
April 16, 2022 at 14:43 #1594081, Clive.
April 21, 2022 at 12:53 #1594995Getting rather sick of the verified and widespread Russian populaces support for the slaughter in Ukraine.
It’s not all but every sign it’s a majority.
The Moscow underground would be very vulnerable to a widespread poison gas attack. You could get a right result in the rush hour. Thousands maybe ?
Perish the thought ….
April 21, 2022 at 12:57 #1594996Corbyns interview yesterday was disgusting as e expected. What is noticeable is that supporters of putin are either corbyn or trump supporters. Or both. And always
Of course not all far left and far right support the genocide but there is a cigarette paper between the beliefs and attitudes of both extremes. In fact they are one of the same of course
