More of That for me (on at 6/1). I genuinely cannot believe that No More Heroes is so short? More of That is 4/4 at Cheltenham, including a World Hurdle win, in which he lowered the colours (which nobody else has managed to do!) of Annie Power. He has a top notch combination of Jonjo/Geraghty. Geraghty gets on so well with the horse, that he isn’t running this weekend in the Scilly Isles Novice Chase, because he is riding in Ireland this weekend. I thought that the connections were wrong to run Coneygree in the GC instead of the RSA, as I genuinely thought that a novice couldn’t win the GC (how spectacularly wrong can one be?!)
Connections have been talking the same way about this horse, which to me speaks volumes. I just hope he doesn’t go for the GC now instead!I am on More Of That too Brightstar, and relieved he didn’t go to Sandown. Rather than “Geraghty”, suspect the reason for the absence is Jonjo’s form. One or two running well in the last few days, but been poor for a long time before that. Hope he has a few run well this week before MOT’s possible run at Newbury.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 7, 2016 at 19:04 #1232724All those charioting More of That must be hoping the yard of Jonjos picks up very soon – even for Jonjo this is desperately bad!! Could be a race for a shock this year
February 8, 2016 at 05:26 #1232776On Black Hercules at 33s and 25s and hoping that Willie ignores Patrick’s urgings to run him in the NH Chase!

I am hoping not JJM.
Mullins reckons No More Heros is a good thing for the RSA, so would think BH goes for the 4 miler.Value Is EverythingFebruary 8, 2016 at 16:53 #1232824I’m hoping the same jjm also backed outlander at 55.0 in my mind I’m completely ruling them out and just hoping for a pleasent suprise.
Had a few quid ew on blaklion at 14s as if none of the mullins battalion turn up he’s very consistent and will deffinately get a run for my money. The field looks like cutting completely up.February 10, 2016 at 10:21 #1232968I’m not sure theres much depth at all in the Irish challenge here this year. Yes, NMH looks a class act and is probably a fair price but after that, I’m not hugely impressed by anything. Seeyouatmidnight and Blaklion are C&D proven, the latter just loves to come up a hill – both represent each way value at this juncture for me. I love More of that but you’d have to have concerns now with yard etc.
This is definitely a wait til the day race
February 10, 2016 at 12:49 #1232977Lol @ concerns over Jonjo O’Neill’s ‘form’. I must have imagined Another Hero absolutely hacking up last week…

Don’t understand where people are coming from in respect of Seeyouatmidnight. He hasn’t got any course and distance form. However, he does have form that would suggest staying three miles in a competitive race is a big question mark. His style of racing just leads people (including the trainer) to believe he is a stayer. Evidence suggests otherwise. As I suggested on another thread a soft ground JLT was his best chance of a Festival win but unfortunately connections chose not to enter. I would make him a place lay in the RSA and an even bigger one in the National Hunt Chase.

I’m on More Of That for the RSA.
One winner doesn’t hide the fact Jonjo has been in awful form. However, there’s been a few that have run well without winning of late. Not up to what I’d like to see but a little more encouraging (only a little). Certainly not what you could call “good form” and if I have a bet in More Of That’s race this weekend it’s highly unlikely to be him.
When looking at other years, Jonjo has been out of form before this time of year and come back in style once the weather improves/for Cheltenham. Plenty of time for it all to change as far as Cheltenham runners are concerned – with one proviso. Wouldn’t like More Of That to run Friday or Saturday if there is even a minor bug in his system, could set the horse back and struggle to recover for March. Jonjo has a few entered up between now and More Of That running, unless there’s more encouragement (in truth none look to have a winning chance anyway) I’d rather More Of That stays at home this weekend.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 14, 2016 at 11:37 #1233597Pretty disappointed that Drumacoo didn’t take in the novice chase at Newbury. I think a reproduction of Huntingdon would have seen him bolt up. It would also have given him experience of jumping left-handed and a couple of extra weeks recovery time. I fear for ante-post backers that the trainer is viewing the Reynoldstown as his RSA and we may well not see him at Cheltenham. That is probably why he has remained static in the market.
February 14, 2016 at 13:08 #1233620Taquin de Seuil hacking up another one for the “Jonjo’s out of form, oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” brigade to chew on.
February 14, 2016 at 14:03 #12336252 winners in 46 runners.
Easy to start crowing once the yard starts to show improved form.
February 14, 2016 at 15:40 #12336402 easy winners against all the odds
February 14, 2016 at 22:02 #1233692Taquin was 5/1 in a race where the favourite was 7/2. He was the class act running on ground which probably suited him better than anything else. He also had Aspell on for the first time. Struggling to see how that win could be described as ‘against all odds’?
February 15, 2016 at 00:38 #1233717Top weight, hadn’t run in an age, most of Jonjo’s need a run after a break, Aspell barely ever rides for the stable, extremely competitive race, very bad ground. Look whatever, I really don’t give a toss. No More Heroes + More of That pays even money I think. Great bet.
February 15, 2016 at 12:05 #1233743Cannot wait
February 15, 2016 at 12:19 #1233748Let’s just hope the Jonjo yard keep improving
