Remember, all of this is against a backdrop of the Tories attempting to gerrymander constituencies in their favour plus the introduction of voter ID which favours those most likely to vote Conservative.
Low turnout on the limited evidence so far but I did see anecdotal evidence beyond that of Cork and Drone that suggested it was higher elsewhere.
July 5, 2024 at 00:50 #1700744July 5, 2024 at 02:13 #1700752Rishi was a sandwich eating disaster, even taking into account the Ukraine,
and the damage done by that lying bxstxrd Johnson. I couldn’t agree more with
Moe, and I said it earlier, Rory Stewart who summed up Johnson as an “egotistical
chancer” would be just what the doctor ordered if he were to come back into politics.
I’ve never voted Tory, but I would consider it if Rory were to be at the helm.
It kind of sticks in my throat at the thought of putting my X in the Tory
box, but I think he would be good for the country.July 5, 2024 at 02:43 #1700755Bye bye Galloway, proof if ever it was needed that by-elections are meaningless.
A shame that Reform are going to win a few seats but otherwise what a night so far.

There’s a worrying thought.
The tide seems to be leaning towards that elsewhere and understandably so, and it’s just a matter of time before it gains momentum in the UK.
July 5, 2024 at 04:32 #1700765Sadly, the Conservative candidate held on in my constituency, with his majority reduced by ten thousand but not quite enough.
July 5, 2024 at 04:56 #1700766Our lovely Samantha has beaten Heather Wheeler. Catherine has won Derby North and Erewash has gone to Labour, too. But the Reform vote is terrifying. Who’s left to lead the Conservative Party if Sunak resigns? Please not Braverman or Badenoch?
July 5, 2024 at 05:01 #1700767Moggs gone. Best Portillo moment ever. Hurrah!

Well Moehat, that’s almost as frightening Farage and Co.
Surely they must have learned a lesson from the Truss debacle.July 5, 2024 at 05:03 #1700769I was clapping Moe , brilliant , disaster up here for SNP , I was right about Labour getting North Ayrshire … I can’t wait to hear Sturgeon …

July 5, 2024 at 06:25 #1700770People should take note of the actions regarding the Yardley results podium and the build up to this election.
From little acorns……………
July 5, 2024 at 06:39 #1700771My God that was awful. The far left are as bad as the far right. Jess was visibly shaken. And she left the shadow cabinet because of Gaza ffs. How would they have treated her if she hadn’t done that?
