Well done Gareth, top bloke.
October 12, 2008 at 23:32 #184497Thank you everyone. I have moved them to a big paddock today, which i am very happy with…
These were taking with me stood towards 1 end, i took the first one in front of me, the fence goes to the tree that you can see in the distance, and i then turned round (same place) and took the other picture which shows the whole length.
They seem very happy…

Locki…

Guymur…

The field is great and it has so much grass for them, especially over the winter!!!
October 12, 2008 at 23:48 #184501That’s smashing! I’m sure you’ll get a lot of pleasure out of them, and how lovely to see them being so well looked after.
October 12, 2008 at 23:53 #184502Wonderful pictures. You seem rightly proud of them both. Tremendous to see them find a good caring home. I’m sure they’ll bring you a great deal of pleasure.

October 13, 2008 at 01:46 #184527Great pictures, and great work Gareth – I have a particular weakness for horses with a big white blaze, and what lovely animals they look. I’m sure you’ll have loads of fun with them!
Funnily enough, we’re often looking to find homes for horses in the racing club I’m in back in Germany – basically, we had two horses at the beginning of last year, who both needed to be rehomed. One had finished his career due to a slight injury, and the other had several injuries as well as kissing spines. We found both of them new homes, one in Hamburg, one just outside Bremen, and apparently they’re both having a great time!!
October 13, 2008 at 01:47 #184528I’ll add my best wishes to you as well Gareth. Looks like good land which they will enjoy and I am sure you and they will have a lot of fun. Well done.
October 13, 2008 at 12:46 #184560Fabulous pictures. Absolutely brilliant stuff. Well done you.
October 13, 2008 at 13:16 #184563Great stuff Gareth,
– It looks they will have a very happy and contented retirement.
Regards – Matron
October 13, 2008 at 13:41 #184567Thanks all.

It’s nice to give something back to racing.
October 13, 2008 at 17:47 #184614Those are excellent photos Gareth and well done for giving these two ex racehorses such a lovely home.

I’m sure they’ll have a very nice retirement with you !
Did they both win races by the way ? (you mentioned that one of them had won over jumps).

Thank you.
Guymur won over fences at Newton Abbot (which can be seen on At The Races). Locki finished 17/17 and 14/14 in his last 2 races, and i think his highest position was 5th.
Guymur seemed to place a few times too.
