May have to catch up with you a bit later on Friday afternoon – as I am working I will not be able to make it to the PPR immediately after the second and with 27 running in the third race I will need to be in the parade ring to make sure I get to see them all before the race.
September 24, 2009 at 00:22 #249862No problem Paul – I still have your mobile no so I’ll send a text and you can give me a call when you’re free.

September 24, 2009 at 22:22 #249954Hi all,
My names Steven and I am a new member of the forum. Just a quick one to say I have a a few spare tickets for Saturday 26th September at Ascot. If anyone is interested please PM me. They are for the Premier Enclosure and I am willing to sell them at £15 each, even though the asking price is £25.
CheersSeptember 24, 2009 at 22:44 #249962Paul…usual place then?
Looks like it – I was quite surprised when I saw the size of some of the fields tomorrow!!!
Nothing like a "quiet" day first day back after holidays – and tomorrow looks nothing like quiet

See you tomorrow
September 25, 2009 at 00:48 #249992OK –
Friday and Saturday after second race, by the Motivator statue at the pre-parade ring.
My mobile is 07525 668 371 for any stragglers or people I’ve missed off or who miss us tomorrow/Saturday at the appointed hour.
Glenn – not sure if anything is happening tomorrow night but if you tesxt me tomorrow afternoon I can see if there are any plans.
Looking forward to meeting a few of you.
September 27, 2009 at 22:40 #250459Many thanks to those of you who came along Friday/Saturday.
The weather was stunning, the racing was excellent and I have to say I was blown away by the new stand (I’d never been before). It is breathtaking.
But the highlight was meeting up with a few of you and putting some faces to names after all those years (in some cases) of seeing those forum names and wondering who might lie behind them.
It’d be great to organise more meet-ups but not easy for me to attend from my location, particularly when it’s down ‘Sarf’. However I’ll try to sort something out.
September 28, 2009 at 01:20 #250518Sorry I didn’t get to meet you – although I regularly bumped into Pengamon (for the first time) in the paddock. Corm, unfortunately I didn’t get your mobile number until today and hoped you’d give me a call. I did go to the Motivator statue after the 2nd race on Saturday but presume you’d all moved off – sadly I didn’t get there until after the trophy presentation. Glad you all had a great time in the sunshine.
September 28, 2009 at 02:34 #250550Adrian – sent you a pm. What a shame, we were at the statue but I guess we may well have moved on by the time the trophy presentation was over with. Didn’t want to ring you and disturb you while you were busy but we’ll definitely meet up next time.
Pengamon – you weren’t at the statue too were you?
I’ll need to organise a TRF T-shirt for these occasions, although I’m not sure a TRF T-Shirt would get past the Ascot gatemen. Perhaps a TRF hat.

September 28, 2009 at 13:46 #250602Lol Rob –
For followers of ‘North’s Notes’ in the ‘Trends. Research and Notebooks’ section of the site (now over 20,000 views and counting) I can report that Rob was diligent as ever. Not only was he spotting every nuance and point of interest but he was recording it all in a rather fancy brown leather note taking wallet, the wallet clearly in keeping with the quality of the Notes therein!
Keep up the great work Rob.
