I’m beginning to get a little concerned Hurdy, we actually appear to be ‘getting on’ at the moment
Maybe it’s just the joviality of having the jumps season returning, I’m sure we’ll find something to squabble over soon enough
October 21, 2012 at 06:48 #417664Wish to hell it would hurry up with Frankel gone the flat season is about as interesting as watching paint dry…no Zentta’s to get excited about at the Breeders and The Melbourne Cup a handicap full of unknown quantities isn’t my cup of tea.
We’ll be fine bud if you’re an SS fan you’re ok by me
October 21, 2012 at 09:59 #417680Im in the Sanctuaire camp (unbeaten over fences
) – will be a great race if they both get there in one piece – the top 6 in the betting all have chances.October 21, 2012 at 11:47 #417692Boz!!!!!!!!!! shoot him
October 22, 2012 at 17:14 #417863I hear Sprinter Sacre first run of the season will be Sunday 18th November at Cheltenham and not the Tingle Creek as reported in the Racing Post
October 23, 2012 at 22:50 #418071I agree i believe Sprinter will be very tough to beat this year, however the price will be too short to back him on the day, therefor the two main dangers i will be looking at very closely will be edgardo sol and sanctuaire, i know your all prob thinking i must mad – that sprinter cant be beat, but sanctuaire is a class act on his day, and can only improve after the 3 chases so far. Edgardo sol is proven at cheltenham albeit at hurdles finishing 2nd last year and winning a chase then at aintree. at nice priced odds and obviously if he goes for it i believe he may run into a place, what do you guys think?
October 23, 2012 at 22:53 #418072Edgardo sol – if he runs (keep your eyes on) v. dangerous
October 24, 2012 at 11:46 #418098We’ll be fine bud if you’re an SS fan you’re ok by me

I took you to war over it for the best part of last year, I’m not about to make the same mistake twice
October 28, 2012 at 19:51 #418580Personally think that FOR NON STOP is suited by a flatter track and Cheltenham might not have played to his strengths when beaten by SIR DES CHAMPS, so think it would be dangerous to take that form literally and also lets be honest FOR NON STOP clearly has improved and trained on and will surely now as a result land a Grade 1
October 28, 2012 at 19:53 #418582CORRECTION he has already won a grade !
October 28, 2012 at 19:53 #418583CORRECTION 1 lol
November 13, 2012 at 19:08 #419782The hype enveloping Sprinter Sacre certainly appears justified, even at this early stage for next year’s Champion Chase – however, Sanctuaire is the one for me personally.
The manner in which he dispatched Somersby last April has remained with me since. It can be argued that the latter ran 10lb below his best but, nevertheless, Sanctuaire was most impressive.
Paul Nicholls’ horse has been a revelation since being allowed to bowl along and enjoy himself. His jumping is spectacular and he has searing speed. It might be that his chance is being slightly underestimated because of his earlier issues. At a generally available 8/1 I think he’s well worth chancing. Paul Nicholls has talked of starting him in the Tingle Creek so he clearly fears nobody and nothing at the moment and he looks the only cloud on Sprinter Sacre’s horizon.November 13, 2012 at 19:49 #419785Sanctuaire
is a certifiable fruitcake. For all he beat some over-the-top horses at Sandown after a light campaign, he is certainly not one to trust at all.
I think he is too short for every major ante-post race at the moment.
November 13, 2012 at 21:18 #419794Does anybody think flemenstar will stay at 2miles or step if he stays at 2mile do you think he ll trouble sprinter sacre? Can never get the image of al ferof destroying spirt son cue card and sprinter sacre up the hill in the supreme novice 2011 surely proves sprinter sacre is not unbeatable. Unlucky to blunder in the Arkle think he ll be a revelation this season gold cup winner? Maybea big price up for offer
November 14, 2012 at 06:12 #419815Given that plans for Flemenstar’s next races include two and a half miles in the John Durkan Chase at Punchestown on 9 December, before testing his stamina over three – the Lexus Chase at the Leopardstown Christmas meeting,it seems hardly the ideal preparation for Cheltenham’s premier 2 miler.
Flemenstar has yet to be tested beyond two and a half miles and given his raw speed, it is hardly surprising some believe he could make his presence felt in either the Queen Mother Champion Chase or the Ryanair Chase at the Festival.
Quote from the trainer Peter Casey – "People are talking about the Champion Chase and the Ryanair and I suppose we could look that way if for some reason he doesn’t get three miles at Christmas, but that is not the plan at the moment. I’m confident he’ll get the trip."
So there you have it – it looks like the Gold Cup is the agenda.November 22, 2012 at 11:33 #420492Sprinter Sacre wins it and may well become the best 2 mile chaser seen since Flyingbolt surpassing the likes of Master Minded and Moscow Flyer.
January 14, 2013 at 14:12 #426271Surely sprinter Sacre at 1/2 is one to put in a whole load of doubles or treble’s if you’re feeling a bit cheeky
