This is going to have the stats fans pulling their hair out, but I think that at 16/1
there’s a case to be made for Safe Voyage. He’s 7 now, so probably at least 3 years
older than your normal winner but he did put up a pretty good show in this last year, coming
through the field to finish strongly in 3rd. I give him a shout because I think he looks even
better this year. He lost nothing in a neck defeat to Space Blues at Haydock, and that one hasn’t
done too badly since. He ran out a very easy winner of the surray stakes at Epsom, he got stopped
twice in the last furlong in the Lennox stakes in 4th behind Space Blue and would have been closer
and last time out ran away from a decent field in the City Of York Stakes. It would be hard to say
he’s progressing at 7, but he’s looking at least as good as he ever has. I think this is the plan
and I’m not sure all the “top notchers” will attend. I think he’s a very decent E/W shout.September 14, 2020 at 14:42 #1501504Safe Voyage is looking not a bad shout now by the way Big G!
In other news, King of Change has been retired to stud!
Because…..”He’s rubbish and has no chance of ever winning another Group 1″
or words to that affect
September 14, 2020 at 14:47 #1501506Safe Voyage is also a possible for the Foret at this stage. He wont run in both.
So yous pays your money and takes your chance.
September 14, 2020 at 15:16 #1501508Disappointing to see King Of Change retired- clearly wasn’t the easiest to train. Looked potentially a top top class miler last year.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!September 14, 2020 at 20:30 #1501549Serious question, what do you think owners would rather win? A QEII or the Foret? Gotta be the QEII in Safe Voyage’s case probably?
September 14, 2020 at 21:32 #1501551He ran in both last year
September 14, 2020 at 22:25 #1501556Trainer said he wont run in both.
September 14, 2020 at 22:59 #1501562Hard to know, maybe they’ll look at it from the view of which they are likelier to win? I’d have thought the Foret on that basis?

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!September 30, 2020 at 10:10 #1503967Could this be the horse to beat Palace Pier, The Revenant 14/1 running in the Prix Daniel Wildenstein at Longchamp on Saturday and if he wins that well that 14/1 won’t last long. He was second to King of Change in this race last year and was slightly impeded in the last 100 years, but that wouldn’t had changed the result only the distance. I missed 4/1 on him for Saturday with Hills and was about to take 3/1 and he was dropped 9/4. Damn.
September 30, 2020 at 10:28 #1503971I couldn’t be more disappointed if Palace Pier couldn’t give The Revenant a fair beating.
Does love soft ground though so at 14s he might be an ew play, as long as it does go soft of course.
Happy enough to stick with my E/W play on Pinatubo at 20s. Handles soft ground, hopefully they produce him quite late, but not as late as last time lol.
IF it does go soft, Kameko to prove he handles it doesn’t he? Good run on Saturday.
Circus has lost his form somewhat? Handles the softer ground though.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!September 30, 2020 at 10:29 #1503972The Revenant couldn’t beat a 115 horse in last year’s QEII so I would think he wont beat a 126 horse this time.
September 30, 2020 at 10:34 #1503975Pinatubo will likely go to the Breeders Cup and skip Ascot now Jack
September 30, 2020 at 10:40 #1503978He has said, you have two options, one being Ascot. Did say percentage call is BC. But then, he said Foret was a likely target which didn’t happen so….
Anyone know the quarantine horses have to go through to go to BC this year? That would be main concern re Pinatubo + Ascot.

September 30, 2020 at 13:32 #1504015Pinatubo scratched
September 30, 2020 at 15:11 #1504022Now that’s annoying, i literally messaged Betfair this AM to get him added to their exchange to lay off my bet to cover me…..

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!October 6, 2020 at 19:28 #1505171The Revenant confirmed as being targeted for another go at this after his win on Saturday. Went off 4/1 last year. On the basis that Kameko doesn’t go due to the ground conditions, I think the Revenant could go off 4/1 again here, so I’ve added him EW….
The Revenant 8/1 EW
