Gold Cup….
Allaho – better over shorter than 3m
Fakir Doudaries – better over shorter than 3m
Clan Des Obeaux – too ‘in and out’ this season to trust
Galvin – may be better on other tracks and held at Cheltenham
Al Boum Photo – past his best
Janidil – unlikely to be good enough
Tornado Flyer – thrashed at Cheltenham, could sneak a place here
Kemboy – too ‘in and out’ this season to trustSo by process of elimination its Minella Indo ew for me.
April 25, 2022 at 15:08 #1595584I’ll have a few bets this week, and I’ve picked out a few for tomorrow
Mighty Potter ew
Eskylane
Chacun Pour Soi
Elle Klassyco win/ew odds dependent
Lifetime Ambition
Good Bye SamApril 25, 2022 at 16:38 #1595590Thought Energumene was quite laboured at Cheltenham, and fortunate that the race fell apart. Perhaps the hold-up tactics didn’t suit him, maybe he and CPS will go head-to-head up front
April 25, 2022 at 16:39 #1595591I’ve only got two bets for Day 1, Ardla at 5-1, and Beacon Edge at 14-1
April 25, 2022 at 17:58 #1595593Bob Olinger with first time tongue tie ….that’s hardly confidence inspiring , I’m a mighty potter fan to plus I still think Felix desjy is too well handicapped not to have a play
April 25, 2022 at 18:27 #1595594Bob Olinger is a wonderful horse who was incredibly impressive in the Ballymore last season.
I think he would be hard to beat if aimed at the 2023 Stayers’ Hurdle.
But I’m really not sure how natural a chaser he is so far, so I’m taking him on tomorrow with Fury Road.
On Wednesday, Clan Des Obeaux won at Aintree last season before winning at Punchestown, he’s still only ten, he’s clearly a spring horse, he’s won at Aintree again this and I think 9/2 to now complete the same double is fair.
Allaho is a marvellous intermediate trip
chaser, but I’m not sure about him at 3m, especially given the way he races, and I don’t think he’s a horse you’d want to disappoint by trying to get a lead with, in order to try to stay, either.I am "The Horse Racing Punter" on Facebook

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"April 25, 2022 at 19:23 #1595600Probably nothing in it as Minella Indo in first time tongue tie too.
April 25, 2022 at 22:33 #1595616There definitely isn’t nothing in it
They must think both have breathing problems that need fixing
In indo we’ve seen him finish weakly the last twice so it’s not a surprise
But of a surprise on Bob though
April 25, 2022 at 22:36 #1595617I wouldn’t regard it as a positive sign for either of them tbh.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"April 26, 2022 at 00:52 #1595634Not got too many today, but that’ll certainly change as the week goes on.
In the opener, Mighty Meggsie has a bit to find, but I’ve seen enough to think she can make the four.
I’ve been waiting on Still Standing running since last Autumn, and he finally appears in The Killashee Hurdle. Thought the way he won at Gowran, was as if he had a bit more up his cuff. Just out the handicap, but happy to have a good swing at him and Hearts Are Trumps, who should be better here with a run under his belt. I’ll reluctantly leave Felix Desjy out.
Looking forward to seeing the entries tomorrow for the two big handicap chases on Saturday. Hopefully Regal Encore will be missing, as I think he’s earned his retirement, but I’ve a feeling I’ll see him entered.
Gold Cup looks a cracker Wednesday, and I’ll definitely be taking Janidil, who’s appealing at 16’s. I’m hoping this is the start of Galvin prepping for Aintree, but I’ll probably have to cover him too.
1540 – Mighty Meggsie 33’s EW4pls/40’s
1615 – Hearts Are Trumps 16’s
1615 – Still Standing 16’s
April 26, 2022 at 08:28 #1595640Just the one today in the 4.50
Great Bear.Best of luck to all
April 26, 2022 at 08:45 #1595642Quiet start for me too with only a couple of bets. Instit 10/1 e/w in the Mares Novice and same price Farout in the handicap hurdle.
April 26, 2022 at 13:21 #1595662Just q few for me too
4.50 In From the Cold 20s ew 5pl
Act of God 33s ew 5pl
7.45 Summer Gale 14s ew 4plApril 26, 2022 at 13:56 #1595664I’ve got three selections today.
I like Eskylane in the big hurdle + in the champion Chase envoi Allen at 14-1 ew.
In the novice Chase I think that Millers Bank is better than an 8-1 chance
Tomorrow I will be betting the Mullins pair Ganapathi + Ramillies in the earlier races.
Later on the card I’ll also bet Minella Indo, Foxy Jacks, + I’ve already bet Seabank Bistro 11-1 ew
Good luck to everyone, there’s some excellent racing in store over the 5 days
April 26, 2022 at 15:38 #1595676An outsider but INSTIT barely twitched a muscle on debut for yard at limerick.

April 26, 2022 at 18:11 #1595700Oh the pain. I’ve just read that Absolute Notion is a half sister to my beloved Chief Dan George and I didn’t back her.
