I probably haven’t been looking hard enough online, but I would appreciate some guidance on this.

What are the regulations one has to meet when starting a small training yard, specifically for PTP/Hunter Chasing?

Furthermore, which organisation do you register with and how? The BHA website is not particularly educational, apart from registration as an owner.

Any info and links to documents most appreciated,

    Thanks in advance!

You need to contact Weatherbys (01933 440077) and speak to their Point to Point section. They will fill you in completely on what you need and send you any stuff.

You will also need to think about which hunt you will qualify your horses with as you will need a certificate from them.

Thanks Alan and Jinny, I really appreciate the information.

It is only a very speculative pipedream at the moment – but the idea of owning, training and riding a couple of pointers in a few years really appeals to me.
