Hi Artemis
I like your system and would just like to add a parameter to it
With Ground changing and some horses blowing up,i would suggest that one uses Betfair,one should look at 21.15,22.30,24.00,7.30,10.00 and anoraks can go on at 12.00 as well,if one clicks on the horses name,it will give you the percentage of money being placed on each horse,this will give you an amazing 60% strike rate on horses under 6/4.One needs to see that the percentage is going up,ie 60% at 7.00am,and it needs to be 60-70%at 12.00,also the speed figure n4eeds to match up with rp top rated,Change a few parameters and you will find some big priced winners.I di not know if you saw that interview with that bloke who won the racing post tipping condition,but Artemis you have opened a can of worms with posting this system,it is the same one tahat Dave Nevison and otrher pros use,i hope it goes down the drain,it is close to the holy grail,and ihope it goes belly up,i tried to sell it to my Father who offered money
~~~~~~,after he recieved the system,and told me to go and get a Solicitor.But as hwe has 3 dads he must be a b
October 17, 2004 at 09:54 #55217Hi Artimes, Dave etc etc
Have been off the boards for a good few months having had a break from racing for awhile, but hope to come back with some profitable systems :o .
I just wanted to say what an excellent thread this has been, by far the best I have seen for a long time and has really given me food for thought. Thanks very much guys and hope to add some value over the next few weeks.
Good luck, keep up the good work and hope you are making a decent income.
Kind regards
Paul
Could you elaborate a little more – you have me quite confused :o
October 17, 2004 at 12:25 #55219frank,
The business about searching for horses supported on Betfair seems reasonable, but I cannot understand the handicap system linked to RP standard times.
You mention that I might have opened a can of worms, that pros use similar methods, and that you hope the method fails.
If it is a can of worms, it was opened a long time ago because there is nothing new in using this logical approach to finding winners. In fact, I believe Charles Babbage who is widely acknowledged as the father of modern computing and data processing, made his discoveries whilst searching for a way to predict the results of horse races — over a hundred years ago!
It is also no surprise that many professionals use similar
methods. Most are a lot more sophisticated and automated than the basic model I am using on this thread. It is simply a matter of assigning numeric values to variables that affect the results of races and everyone can create their own model. Personally, I find this a lot easier than poring through the form using an intuitive approach but to each their own.
I cannot believe anyone would pay money for such a basic model, although a more sophisticated version which calculates odds would obviously be worth something. As mentioned in earlier posts, there are definitely many such methods being used by individuals and syndicates as well as tipping organisations.
I cannot think why you would hope such methods will fail. As I’ve also said on many occasions, there is not a vast amount of profit in using this approach. It’s just a steady small percentage that I’m aiming for. I realise that this approach tends to throw up similar selections and that these can be overbet which reduces profitability. You can almost certainly get better value by taking earlly prices or using the exchanges, but I’ve shown all results to SP because that price is available at any time and doesn’t require any extra work. The syndicates and pros are watching the market continuously and may not even play until the market settles and they can get a substantial bet or lay. Maybe it will turn out that just showing returns to SP will not show that much profit, but I would be surprised if it lost.
When you consider that the RP tipsters table and the naps competition are both showing average losses of around 10%, and that many tipping lines wouldn’t fare any better at SP (see: relayline.com), breaking even would be a bit of a result. I cannot see this method or similar methods failing by these standards.
October 17, 2004 at 17:18 #55220Sorry Artemis,i did not mean that i want your system to fail,it is a good system,about the best one with Matrons.
October 17, 2004 at 17:24 #55221As with the system i made that up in 10 mins,My system and Artemis system threw up Newnham,as you can see on the trf comp i went for Swift Sailor,but that system will remain secret
October 17, 2004 at 17:57 #55222Secret systems,frank. Tut,tut.
I’d hoped we might be past all that nonsense on here.
October 17, 2004 at 18:06 #55223Dont be, your system is excellent and i would advice to follow 6/4 shots and lower, if being backed on betfair,you average over 50%,what better system could there be
Dave Bellingham the guy who does the form figures for raceform update used use a similar system which was successfull on this board as the 5/4 system,but he has changed the way he calculates two times and hence it went down yhe tubes
October 18, 2004 at 08:16 #55224I think frank and I must be on a different wavelength.
Today’s qualifying bets:
Plum 5.10 Jacquemart Colombe 137(+20) 30pts win
unpl
Pont 3.20 Haut Bay 118(+14) 10pts ew unpl
3.50 Comic Strip 130(+17) 30pts win won 4/5
Stakes 80pts loss 26 points
October 18, 2004 at 08:48 #55225Why are we on a different wavelength,i don’t get that one
October 18, 2004 at 09:28 #55226sorry, frank, its just that your information isn’t always complete.
I understand the 6/4 and 50% bit, and will keep an eye on it as best I can, but I’m not around all day to do it consistently. Apparently, there is a new site that monitors what has happened on Betfair, and this might make that job easier. Its the http://www.tips.tv site.
The Dave Belligham bit is what confuses me. Why two times? Also I haven’t followed the reasoning in a couple of your other posts. A little more detail, please, frank, to get me on same wavelength.
October 18, 2004 at 09:53 #55227Hi Artemis
Dave Bellingham is the guy who does the speed figures for raceform update,i would have to look through my copies of raceform update,to found out how he has changed them,as for not understanding me i don’t understand myself sometimes,i have just been diagnosed with a duplication of chromosone 8,maybe thats another reason why i do not make sense
October 18, 2004 at 12:45 #55228Sounds painful,frank.
Seriously, I hope it isn’t serious, if you know what I mean.
October 18, 2004 at 14:16 #55229Hi Artemis
Ah,its not that bad,i have to look into it properly first,and less of the sarcasm please even though i walked right into that one
