How did Siskin get his ideal conditions at Goodwood FF?!
September 4, 2020 at 12:04 #1499794FF91 its interesting you saying that if it turns into a sprint Siskin will win because he is definitely the fastest. Is he? I would’ve thought that would favour Pinatubo as well. Siskin has to go and do it and make the necessary 5 lbs improvement.
September 4, 2020 at 12:07 #1499795It won’t anyway, or it’s very unlikely. CM will ensure that, it’ll be a similar race to the Sussex you’d think
September 4, 2020 at 12:21 #1499798If it turns in to a sprint it’ll suit them both and whoever is better would you’d imagine win! The difference is, one was 14-1 and one was even money to find out. Not much between them on the figures either.
I’d say Circus will as Frency says try and make it a proper test. However, on this straight track, i’m hoping Siskin is held on to for as long as possible, which will allow him to have that one fast kick and we’ll see how it goes.
Asked Ande Humphrey on twitter about the track
“It is downhill from the start into the false straight and then level through the straight to the winning line.
Horses can get unbalanced coming down the hill.”Twitter: Jackh1092
Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!September 4, 2020 at 12:33 #1499800However, on this straight track, i’m hoping Siskin is held on to for as long as possible,
I thought the race was around a bend. Is it on a straight track this year?

Ignore me, i’m getting myself mixed up with the debate on Pinatubo on a straight Ascot etc. Yes a bend, either way, i’m hoping they hold onto him as long as they can. As much as Keane did the right thing to a degree at Goodwood to come wide round the others, i feel San Donato travelling so well from 2f-1f and Siskin tailing him might have used up too much gas.

September 4, 2020 at 12:43 #1499803I completely agree with you Jack. I think CK went a little too early, but I also thought that about Pinatubo in the SJP, I expect them both to have learnt a lot more by riding them this year and jockey skill and decision making will play a big part here. That’s why I’m very happy CK is riding Siskin
September 4, 2020 at 12:46 #1499804What they both need to ideally do is catch CM in the last 25/50 yards or even better on the line. Will take a lot of skill.
What they don’t want to do is engage CM in a little battle a furlong out as they’ll get beat doing that
September 4, 2020 at 12:49 #1499805Good ground and a speed track frenchy
September 4, 2020 at 13:55 #1499808Doyles on Pinatubo it looks like
September 4, 2020 at 14:09 #1499811Was slightly on the easy side plus GF he ideally needs
September 5, 2020 at 20:20 #1500062Money for Siskin today, in to 7/2. Is he gunna do it for us?!!
September 5, 2020 at 20:35 #1500063He will probably be last off the bridle so a lay at a short price in running should be a good saver for you guys on at big prices
September 5, 2020 at 21:18 #1500065Is there much liquidity on the French stuff in running?
September 5, 2020 at 21:30 #1500066Cant say iv ever actually looked tbh but id imagine for a big group 1 there would be more than enough for an in running saver at odds on
September 6, 2020 at 00:16 #1500080Am getting the feeling Pinatubo is becoming the 3yo he promised he could be. He may well smoke these a couple of lengths. CM for the FC, Romanised for the TC.
