Ger Lyons is keen to run Siskin, who was third behind Mohaather and Circus Maximus in the Sussex Stakes.

The Irish trainer said: “He’s been in good order since he was third to the best older miler Mohaather in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood, and he has options in the Prix de la Foret in France, the Boomerang on Irish Champions Day and of course the QEII.”

No mention of the moulin but he does mention irish chamoions weekend

Maybe that is why siskin was such a huge price

    Thanks I completely missed that

Very much looking forward to this and hope we get some decent ground

Happy to see his quote mooting the foret and breeders cup as his likely next target after this

I guess I’d have to hope the ground is soft on Arc weekend for him to run in america

We’d likely get robbed of mile races like this though. The mile division this years been pretty epic actually!

Frenchy you first said Siskin is class now you say potentially class. That was one of my points. He has it to prove so lets see if he can make the necessary improvement to win the race against 2 horses rated 120.

Yeah fair comment Mike. I do think he is class on fast ground but you are right now is the time for him to prove something amongst his elders and deeper lineup than his Guineas win.

    @jack
Really like your Irish Times sports pages Jack so much more information than Racing Post who are far too focused on their Members Club and more insight into the plans of Ballydoyle which was most helpful. :good: Jac

Yes @Triptych i formerly was a member of the Members Club, but i don’t think it’s worth it at all. As you say, you can find the information for free! A twitter search of the key words often find me all i need to know!

6 remain, Ancient Spirit scratched…..nice for the 3 places on Siskin.

Pinatubo is a horrendous price surely

One of the few group 1s where any of them could win and it wouldn’t be an upset let alone a shock

With Ancient Spirit out this could get tactical as he was the pace angle that I saw.

    I don’t think it’s great FF anyway.

Another Brucie Bonus is that Colin Keane can now ride Siskin….

Yep i’m having a look at that now and Circus will probably lead presumably? It’ll be interesting for sure, as he surely wants to make it a massive test for the faster two….

What’s the deal with Ireland then at the moment? They’ve announced that jockeys don’t have to isolate?

If Colin Keane is riding that’s a massive bonus!

    He is!

    Ger was on ATR confirming.

You’d wonder why it’s taken so long to get the quarantine cleared for professional jockeys but hey ho!

Actually that will mean Ryan is riding Circus Maximus as well presumably?

If they want him to yep!

Which is a bonus, as he gets on very well with CM….

Have backed Circus Maximus at 5/1

Feel like siskin had his ideal conditions at goodwood and still couldnt pass him

Don’t think either of him or pinatubo will stay the trip strongly enough to pass him

Though if they were to go an absolute crawl and it turned into a sprint which is a regular thing in france then those on siskin at double figure prices have a great bet as he is definitely the fastest horse in the race
