5.20 Gal Diamond Hill 3-1 2pts win
July 31, 2019 at 09:24 #1450000A bit like Exchange Rate i was looking forward to backing Diamond Hill this week- it’s just a pity she’s up against a proper horse today! I suppose the one thing you could take away from HDB is that he’s 28 runners over hurdles and 2 winners at the track. Doubt many have had the opportunity this one has though! While Diamond Hill looks a stayer and has fitness on her side, her form is quite a bit of Dancign On My Own?
Galway is very tricky tonight, i don’t think i can find anything bar the Plate!

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!July 31, 2019 at 09:47 #1450008True…think the itchy betting fingers getting the better of me. HdB horse should stay too looking at breeding.
July 31, 2019 at 20:53 #1450108PS, well done with Diamond Hill! A Mee horse at Galway has to be feared no matter what!

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!July 31, 2019 at 21:20 #1450114Thanks Jack. I like the look of the Emmet Mullins trained Russian Diamond that won the bumper on Monday. Will back him in whatever race he runs in here next year. Smashing looking horse.
August 1, 2019 at 10:40 #1450176More Mullins horses today:
I’ve been looking out for Dandy Mag since his decent show in a French hurdle. Not the biggest but a nippy horse should suit. JOB horse is fav but his chasers often need a run to get the hang of it.
Robin de Carlow is also a nimble little thing and has plenty of stamina to get up the hill. She beat one of “my” horses, Brahma Bull, last time so I have to back her!
Foveros is receiving weight rather than giving it away today which may make the difference for him.
2.00 Dandy Mag 9/2
2.35 Robin de Carlow 3-1
4.20 Foveros 10/32pts win each.
Haven’t a baldy about the big race but if any of the above win then I’ll have a go.
August 1, 2019 at 11:20 #1450179Yeah GAG, they are all flying when he trains them + they are Mee owned!
I agree on Dandy Mag, i haven’t bet but he looked the one for me too.
Can also see what you mean with RDC, she’ll stay all day + ground will suit. Issue i have is she can jump a bit inconsistently, and i am not sure that suits at Galway. Wicklow Brave will be a tough nut to crack with only 3pds in receipt. Great race!
Don’t really know about Foveros, in theory Duffy should take a world of beating through Peregrine Run, but Mullins is deadly!
I’ve gone for Shanning + Play the Game in the big one. Titanium Sky in the listed race, but that’s wide open + Codds in the bumper. Even if the bumper horse doesn’t win, 7k for that horse is a steal.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!August 1, 2019 at 16:42 #1450216Bit of luck there so
4.55 Tombstone 40-1 1pt ew 6pl
Shanning my idea of the winner but you need luck too. Sayo unexposed and interesting- looked really unfurnished in the Triumph last year so did well to manage 3rd- but stable comments murmuring about big weight and needing the run so left it alone.
August 1, 2019 at 22:47 #1450257Dandy Mag won well. He has filled out since his hurdling days and developed into a nice looking horse. Seemed to enjoy chasing and sailed around with those lovely big ears (like his half sister has) pricked looking for the fences. He ran around a bit in front of some of them but launched with enthusiasm and makes a nice shape over a fence. Early Doors will also learn a lot from that run…he did the typical JOB horse thing on first chase start of thinking, “oh look, what is that, it’s not a hurdle” at the first few fences but the ability is there. He didn’t look unhappy, just figuring it out.
Missed Robin de Carlow’s race- relieved to hear just an overreach. She probably wouldn’t have beaten WB anyway.
Foveros did his thing OK and I gave him a good cheer up the hill but perhaps limited in scope. He’s not very big. I’d like to see Ash Hill left handed over fences.
Tombstone had a race of two halves- unfortunately the second half was the bad half. He lost ground quickly…physical or mental?
Two for tomorrow in the consolation races:
V tempted by St Stephens Green in the first, given connections. Just not sure about his prep run finishing effort, or lack thereof. I can’t work out whether the jockey realises there is nowhere to go and stops riding, or whether the horse pulled himself up. He’s short enough anyway so I will go with the one that Elliot rates his best chance tomorrow on his betfair blog. I’ve had half an eye on Star Maker over the summer. No good course form but did OK at the likes of Epsom during his flat days. Trainer has put a line through last run and so will I. Russell on top too.
Going for the Mee/Mullins horse in the Blazers though. Trainer has said in the past that he likes soft ground but has won on good before, including here. Closutton preview noncommittal about chances but suspect will be well schooled and primed.
5.10 Star Maker 16-1 1pt ew
6.15 Minella Beau 8-1 2pts winAugust 2, 2019 at 09:27 #1450279Good luck today Grass, I’ve taken a chance on St Stephens Green.
