I’ve added Column of Fire. I would have bet him already, qualified or not, if I knew he wasn’t going chasing, and he’s got a hurdles entry at the weekend, so I’ll play just now.

I’m taking the 20’s without NRNB, as one of my favourite races of the week, and if the bet goes west, so be it. Really should wait to see if he gets an entry in one of the remaining qualifiers, but not convinced I’d get 20’s then.

Guys, can’t argue with Tobefair at all. No surprise to see him bounce back here at all. 50’s too big.

After the run of Column of Fire the other day, I’m back in the hunt for another in this, and Tobefair certainly one of them guys, but I’ll probably wait and have a look at the qualifier at Punchestown later this month.

CoF was miles off the pace, and he was just dismal, certainly didn’t look like a run to trim a couple of pounds off.

Rachel McDonald sneaked Nikgarde into sixth* in the Pertemps qualifier at Musselburgh today, I see.

*What do you mean that doesn’t make it a certainty for March?

Column of Fire entered in The Punchestown qualifier on Wednesday, and after the heavy fall for No Comment on Wetherby, need a change of luck. I’m hopeful, but not confident.

The other standout in the entries for me is Milliner. Straight into the notebook for the spring festivals after his run at Navan the other week. A very interesting run, and definitely on my radar for this if things go well on Wednesday.

Milliner was major eye-catching last time. He’s clearly a horse they like. The issue is his mark- 121. He’d need to win pretty well to get in wouldn’t he?

I marked him down for a Punchestown handicap.

Yeah Jack, he’d have to win well, and possibly hope for a few pounds more from the handicapper, but either way, a horse I’ll be watching closely.

It would probably do me good to wind it back in here anyway, as one of my “any race” horses, Champagne Platinum, takes in tomorrow’s qualifier, while another regular of mine, Kansas City Chief, who’s already qualified, is also running tomorrow.

This could become a right mess for me this race.

It’s a pity Punchestown got washed out. I wonder if they could squish the qualifier in before the rest of the card at Fairyhouse or Naas at the weekend. I’d love to see Lynwood Gold get qualified.

I’ve added Spiritofthegames here- 33/1. Runs tomorrow in the 6 runner qualifier.

Has some high class hurdle and chase form.

    Good course form.

    6pd lower hurdle mark.

    Will get to run regardless.

I was looking at him last night Jack and quite like him for the reasons you list. Do you think he’ll stay? He has only tried the trip once since his P2P, in the Rowland Meyrick when the ground was probably a bit soft for him. At least his sire got a few stayers and he shares a damsire with the likes of Cue Card and Minellacelebration.

I think so. Not certain of course, but as you point out P2P winner- has shaped at times like 3miles would be ok and maybe better. 2m4 1/2 maiden hurdle winner in 2016 you’d have thought 3m would’ve been in his range. He went of 9/2 at Wetherby as well so someone thought it would be ok lol.
Basically, ridden a certain way i see him staying the trip, he’ll be off a nice weight given his chase mark + hopefully it works out.

    33/1 worth a stab anyway!

    Come On Teddy 20/1

Won impressively over C&D in December beating On The Blind Side well (OTBS has since ran well in two Grade 2s and beaten Lil Rockefeller rated 149). Was only put up 7 for that and stayed on nicely for third to qualify for this at Warwick. That was slowly run which wouldn’t have suited but personally I’m not sure they fancied winning anyway. 134 will get in this year and apart from the top two in the market I’d have this beast third in at 12s or so.

    Lynwood Gold 25s ew nrnb

Stable have had a quiet season but this has been the plan all along and I suspect not out earlier in the year as probably going onto a flat campaign again. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Really keen on Dalton Highway here. Was happy enough with him on Monday, and I think I’ll get a run for my money, should he sneak in at the bottom.

Still like Milliner, Kansas City Chief, and about half a dozen others, but I’ll leave it at that.

    Pinstickers delight this one!

    My top rated are:

    Ask Dillon 162
    Potters Hedger 162
    Champagne Platinum 161
    Come On Teddy 161
    Unowhatimeanharry 160

and a fair few others within another 7 pounds.

In a wide open race I’ll go for the longest priced of these Potters Hedger(50/1), Uknowhatimeanharry (33/1, 40/1 in a place) and Ask Dillon(33/1)

Really disappointing that Dalton Highway didn’t declare. Been careful with my Antepost bets this year, but he was one of two I’d like back.

Still happy with the other pair, but I’ve added Milliner. He don’t be 20’s if he sneaks in.

It’s a race I don’t mind a good go at, and still considering Kansas City Chief, especially with seven places up for grabs. If Milliner doesn’t get in, I’ll definitely add him.
