Yeah, straight near the top of the market too as a result of that entry.
I’ve got a few Elliot ones I’m waiting on for this, as I’ll definitely go for a couple of his if the price is right.
Commander of Fleet obviously on that list off the back of that entry, and Dallas Des Pictons was on the list at the start of the season, given how bad he was last year over fences. His last run however suggested that he’s just quickly regressing.
I’m waiting to see plans for Wide Receiver and Column of Fire too.
December 12, 2020 at 14:50 #1513999Got the 40’s for No Comment there no probs, delighted with him during the race, less impressed at the finish, but happy with 40’s.
Mohaayed 33’s
No Comment 40’sDecember 16, 2020 at 23:44 #1514399Bad news VTC , Marcus Buckland has tipped Mohayed @25s for this.
December 17, 2020 at 01:22 #1514402I don’t follow of any of these guys Ken, I take it by the bad news, that he’s got a poor record lol
December 28, 2020 at 01:29 #1515578One of the big qualifiers today at Leopardstown.
The one jumping off the page is The Bosses Oscar, but he’s near the head of the market anyway, while as discussed before, Commander of Fleet interesting if he retains old ability.
Still waiting to see Column of Fire out though from the yard.
The pair I’m most interested in today though, are Cracking Smart, and Sneaky Getaway.
Cracking Smart a bit inconsistent, but his run in The Coral Cup, after winning The Boyne Hurdle isn’t forgotten. His first two runs this season looked like ideal runs for trimming a couple of pounds off, but it’s his last run that causes most concern. It was a shocker, and as much as Elliot knows how to plot one, that was not a “plot” run, more a horse who wasn’t right. I’m still interested though, if that was a blip. Big ask though for jockey to sneak him into fifth here.
I’m really interested in how Emmet Mullins is doing, and Sneaky Getaway looks an interesting one today. I’ll happily bet him here, as I don’t have the opportunity Antepost, as he’s not listed. Decent horse this, and I could see him being good enough for The Final.
December 28, 2020 at 11:18 #1515601Really looking forward to this race. The Pertemps Final at the festival is one of my favourite races of the season.
I suppose everyone is going to be looking at any Elliott horses finishing in the top 6 after a “patient” ride.
December 28, 2020 at 14:02 #1515626Yeah Cork, love it too, and starting to shape up.
Morosini getting the sixth spot, and he’s getting bet, along with The Bosses Oscar obviously.
I’ll stick with my pair for the time being though.
December 28, 2020 at 14:08 #1515628Disappointed Commander of Fleet did not make it into the first six. I hope he can qualify because I would give him a real chance in this at his best.
Maybe Elliot will send him over for the Warwick qualifier that SDB ran in last year. Assuming the travel ban has been lifted.
January 13, 2021 at 01:42 #1517368I think that Tobefair is an interesting runner at Warwick on Saturday.
Not done much this term, but wasn’t far away in The Stayers, and a quiet run into fifth or sixth on Saturday, could see him go to Cheltenham on a decent mark.
January 16, 2021 at 16:00 #1517881Nice win by Imperial Alcazar today. I have always liked this horse ever since I saw him tough it out to win a novice hurdle at Aintree.
After timing I know but I had a small bet on him today and the 16/1 for the final is very fair.
Pity today’s race was marred by the horrible falls.
January 16, 2021 at 17:39 #1517897Absolutely gutted to hear that Mohayed was fatally injured today. Such a genuine horse. Feeling for the horse and all connections this evening.
RIP my old mate

January 18, 2021 at 21:04 #1518155Agree Ken, such a shame, he was a smashing horse.
January 18, 2021 at 21:09 #1518158Thanks for that list Holla, I usually keep track, but didn’t bother my ass this year.
After the sad loss of Mohaayed, I’m tempted to have another to go with No Comment.
I bet Kansas City Chief every year, so no doubt I’ll go in again this year, but no more at the moment, as I’ll wait for the Irish qualifier.
Shortlist
Honest Vic
Justatenner
Kansas City Chief
Lock’s Corner
Tedham
TobefairJanuary 19, 2021 at 01:01 #1518179Mrs milner was the one who tempted me as a replacement for mohaayed
Ran a cracker to finish second to on the blind side who has franked that form since
Only a 6yo and very unexposed at the trip
Just looks a potential improver who could sneak in at the bottom of the weights
33/1 nrnb is something I will be adding ASAP
January 19, 2021 at 21:56 #1518248I echo the sentiments re Mohaayed. Such a shame and i think he was being plotted for this race too

At this stage i like the old timer Tobefair. 11 years young now but has solid course form and is slowly coming down the weights, hopefully enough to nab a place.
