Slate House is a superb in play bet IMO. Often races out the back, gets a bit lazy, Robbie often forced to push him along quite early – all this means he can trade at very juicy in play prices quite early. He made loads of mistakes last year and still came there swinging. I have little doubt if he’d stayed on his feet he would have won. Deeper race this year, but I think he’s in with a shout and il wait till he hits 16/18 in running and then have a go (backed in a single @ 10/1)

Heavy rain forecast for Saturday morning and early afternoon

Ground may go for mister Fisher if it hits the track

Happy with my 12s for each way purposes, just hope nicky doesn’t pull him out

I rather like The Russian Doyen as my figures suggest back form is very solid. Injured around this time last year, but made a very encouraging comeback when a close third over hurdles to in-form Chirico Vallis. He is lightly raced over fences but progressive up to March last year and I would presume spot on after his prep race.

I’m pleased I waited with my pair, but on the downside, I have to bet them knowing that Brelan D’As is hardly popular, while Fidux is drifting badly.

Still not bet either of them, but both might as well be to six places at current prices, 20’s and 40’s.

Sirruh Du Lac for me 9-1. I was hoping for a bigger price, but I think that after the race, 9-1 will look ok.

I had a slightly odd dream last night that the ground got really testing and the race became something of a war of attrition and there were a lot of fallers and some brought down, approaching 3 out there was only Happy Diva (who I have backed antepost) and Slate House still going with a realistic chance, Robbie Power cruising along on the bridle but crashing through most of the fences in the process. Coole Cody was also still going but around a fence behind them, plodding along. There is a coming together at the 3rd last as Power can’t hold onto Slate House any longer, he’s going the better of the two at this stage but the coming together causes him to unseat after the fence leaving Happy Diva to come home unchallenged and Coole Cody gets there eventually as the only other finisher. As unlikely as all that is the next part I’m pretty sure would never happen, Happy Diva is disqualified and Coole Cody promoted as winner.

Looking at the festival form does anyone think from a handicapping point of view that’s spiritofthegames is handicapped to get a good bit nearer to both simplythebetts/happy diva , he could be the value , also got to have a look at Aso , read this morning that his form last year was disappointing ….King Georges and Ryanair are a wee bit harder than this …he,s a stupid price , I’ll play both e.w

Very strong renewal, really looking forward to this race! I think Mister Fisher will have a decent shot at this at 5/1. In my opinion he is genuine grade 1 horse, 155 isn’t too bad. Also added Kauto Riko at 50/1 EW. If he is on a going day I can seen him finish in the top 5.

I’ll go for Domaine De Lisle to place.
Went up 26 pounds whilst progressing as a 6 / 7 year old so the defeat at Ascot can be forgiven. Pipe opener over hurdles recently and should be fine around here over this trip, though I’d have preferred the New Course.

I think most of these are weighted up to the hilt and one of the second seasoners should win

Slate House 12-1 and Siruh Du Lac 10-1 for me.

It’s a string looking field this year.

Added Simply The Betts @ 8.8 – all this rain here will massively play to his chances

Slate House my biggest winner – the plan is to back him in play when he drifts to around 20’s which is highly likely IMO. Backed at 10’s as well
