Imperial Aura not running in this now according to Kim Bailey.
November 5, 2020 at 12:39 #1509675Think Bailey realises he has a graded horse on his hands after winning so impressively at Carlisle. SIMPLY THE BETTS already beat IMPERIAL last season and I think this is a very good young animal too who will progress (hopefully after winning) the Paddypower off a mark of 157 in a relatively compressed handicap?
SIMPLY THE BETTS 14/1 ew
November 8, 2020 at 02:36 #1510055Mister Fisher 12/1 e/w for me
Finished miles ahead of saint sonnet in the marsh chase, if that one is well in off 147 then so must this one off 155
Is also still only 6 so could still have improveent to come
Will love the ground as long as it’s no worse than gd to soft
Fingers crossed Henderson decides to run him as I think he will take plenty of beating
November 8, 2020 at 11:09 #1510078I should have turned my eye to this thread a while back, I’ve got
Simply The Betts in all my TTF and TTTf competitions and taken as bit
of 25s for the Ryanair. I’ve missed some decent odds for this, but
he’s my idea of the winner and I don’t think he’ll get any bigger
than he is now.Simply The Betts 7/1 Win Bet365
November 9, 2020 at 13:35 #1510186I really fancy mister fisher for this so glad to see him declared
Price slashed across the board now too
Hopefully we don’t get much rain this week
November 9, 2020 at 13:39 #1510188Disappointingly Midnight Shadow taken out. There for the taking for Saint Sonnet getting the weight from current market rivals.
November 9, 2020 at 13:55 #1510190Coole Cody at 25s ew (with boylesports- odd as they not usually longer than anyone else) is my first bet in this. Goes on any ground and has jumped quite nicely so far on his 3 chase starts for Evan Williams, including round here when second to Southfield Stone who has improved. Stays the trip no bother. Won a handicap hurdle over this trip at this meeting a few years back off a hurdle mark 1lb lower than his current chase mark, despite being struck into quite badly that day. Race fit.
EDIT- About a minute later, the boylesports odds compiler came back from the loo, saw everyone else’s odds and halved CC’s price (I don’t think it was my £1 ew).
EDIT again- checked my bet and it says 14-1. It definitely said 25-1 when I clicked on it and there was no “the odds have changed” message when I clicked confirm bet. I suppose that falls under some small print to the effect that “if our odds compiler suddenly needed a wee and realised on his return that- HORROR- he has left one horse significantly longer than everyone else’s Oh just make all the ones outside the top 3 in the betting about 12 or 14s till we see what the exchanges do strategy, then we can just retrospectively cut the odds on the bet you have struck”.
I know it’s a bit unsporting to try to take advantage of a rick, but meh- it’s not as if I can change my mind over a bet with them- they do not offer cashout on this bet.
November 9, 2020 at 14:07 #1510192Still happy with 10s for Saint Sonnet but will probably back a saver on the day. I sometimes worry that the french ones might be a touch overrated without doing much on the track (see Solo).
November 9, 2020 at 14:14 #1510194Kauto Riko would be interesting for this having taken another look. His best form seems to come when fresh and bits and pieces of his form stands up well against some of these. 66/1 with Paddy Power looks fair
November 9, 2020 at 14:44 #1510197Hate to state the obvious again but SIMPLY THE BETTS at 14/1 ew was a cracking bet for a horse with CD form and a festival winner to boot who is on the upgrade…
HAPPY DIVA to run well again, she is another who had a decent spin last time in prep for this and I can see her at least being placed.
SIMPLY THE BETTS 14/1 ew (first 4)
HAPPY DIVA 20/1 ew (first 5) before decs announced this morningNovember 9, 2020 at 14:44 #1510198Kauto Riko certainly very interesting fresh TYT having won on seasonal reappearance in 2016, 2017 (and effectively in 2018) and 2nd in 2019 – the latter when running Top Notch close in the Peterborough which is TN’s race. My reservations would be that he seems best on flat tracks and whether he can continue the pattern against this hot opposition. But that’s a good price for 5 places alright.
November 10, 2020 at 00:13 #1510241Brelan D’As the only one from my shortlist still in it, but very difficult to bet him just now, with him holding an entry on Friday as well.
My Antepost record in this is poor, and that trend continues this year, but if I do have one last I’ll advised Antepost here, it’ll be Fidux, who I think we haven’t seen the best of. I’ll probably have a few quid his way.
The race has a pretty solid look to it though, and plenty of quality in there, so won’t be going mad.
Brelan D’As 16’s
Fidux 20’sNovember 10, 2020 at 12:02 #1510270Saint Sonnet and Slate House for me, I’ve been chipping away at both of them for a few weeks now.
November 10, 2020 at 12:05 #1510273Yeh I wanna back Slate House but CT said the Ladbrokes Trophy would be his starting point so holding fire
November 10, 2020 at 16:37 #1510294Kauto Riko now 25/1 from 66 with Paddy Power. Don’t think my punt was big enough to send shockwaves through PP HQ but it’s encouraging to see support coming for him. Questions marks about the track are valid as Green mentioned but I’ve beaten the market at least with both of my selections.
November 10, 2020 at 19:04 #1510306Brelan D’as and Slate House are my fancies at this point, but going to wait until the day.
November 10, 2020 at 23:16 #1510330Just having another look and noticed Aso is back to his last winning mark. Clearly likes it here and connections resisted options at Wetherby and Ascot to keep him fresh for this. Again I’ll wait for the day, but could prove value.
