Cashed out my Goldream AP bet. Lots of heavy rain predicted for York shortly.
August 19, 2016 at 12:18 #1260416it is throwing it down with rain here in Barnsley!!!

And according to the local weather it is in York too!!
Could make all my bets look silly!!
Am on profitable Goldream and Pearl secret!! Could be boo hoo time!!
August 19, 2016 at 13:03 #1260422Not really my type of race, but would love to see my old pal Sole Power go well, but I’ve taken a chance with Thesme @ 100’s, and Muthmir 25’s, both with 5 places available.

I originally backed Limato, Easton Angel and Yalta as my main bets ante-post with a saver on Goldream, Raymo. Thinking it would be firm and Meccas either a non-runner or unsuited.
I’ve laid some back and now my main bets are Easton and Brando, with Limato and Meccas as bets to win half my usual amount and Yalta and Goldream now normal full losers for me.
I’d say the rain is a positive for Profitable and Pearl Secret.
However, it was pretty firm before the rain – so needs to keep raining to be totally for or against any horse.
Value Is EverythingAugust 19, 2016 at 14:32 #1260446Timeform have tipped Easton Angel on their ATR preview so others also fancy her.
I can’t do Limato at the odds. He could win it but he’s had his off days and comes from trying to get a mile down to a pure speed test.
Lady Aurelia didn’t turn up and Yalta has a chance to deputise for the 2yo generation but for me Mark Johnston has always been pot luck regarding getting a run for your money.
Mecca’s Angel has her share of supporters but is just a shade skinny for me.
I am returning to Profitable here after abandoning him last time. Back at 5F I feel the Clive Cox horse represents an old fashioned tough 5F sprinter who seems to have the knack of finding just enough to get the win. Far from disgraced stretched to 6F last time I reckon he is pretty much guaranteed to be thereabouts and at 13/2 he seems the value today.
I have had a small each way on Brando as well, as he’s still got scope and is a huge price at 28/1
Profitable 13/2
1.Profitable
2.Mecca’s Angel
3.BrandoThanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
August 19, 2016 at 15:08 #1260449LIMATO is the class in the race, but It’s going to be a tough race, not least
because of the change in conditions. I think WASHINGTON DC is
well overpriced still on offer at 22/1. He’s been doing battle with most of the
main protagonists in this and his form holds up quite well. He shouldn’t be that
price, well worth a punt.August 19, 2016 at 15:22 #1260451Back in on Goldream @14’s E/W 4 places. Better than 3 AP :)

I’m all over the place with this race!
First backing the firm ground horses because they were value due to the dry weather forecast. Then the rains came so did Meccas and got out of a few. But times suggest it is still on the firm side. So have (once more) backed Yalta and back with a main bet on Limato. Meccas now only a saver. :lol:Value Is EverythingAugust 19, 2016 at 15:38 #1260455A small saver on Goken who should get plenty cover here and Spencer riding with huge confidence
August 19, 2016 at 15:46 #12604561-2 great result. Limato best horse in the race but he’s not a 5f horse. Ground against him to but he ran very well. Had a lot of money on him e/w at 4s. Slammed Meccas Angel e/w also when the ground went in her favour and she is a very very good horse over 5f especially at York.
August 19, 2016 at 15:47 #1260457WOW! Some performance. Most unusual for nobody on the thread to have championed her.
August 19, 2016 at 15:50 #1260458Just heaard C4 say Meccas was 13/2 this morning. Is that right?

She certainly goes on fast ground now.
Great performance and I believe Limato ran to his best there.
Value Is EverythingAugust 19, 2016 at 15:54 #1260460Gore is king! I’ve looked back but can’t find the Mecca Angel tip though. Great tipping though. Hope you got the forecast pal
August 19, 2016 at 15:57 #1260461I didn’t tip her, only backed her when the rain came. She is a very good horse with cut. If she reproduced anything like her run against Acapulco then she was bound to win or at least place at the very worst! If anything she ran better than last year today. Excellent result!
August 19, 2016 at 16:15 #1260463Unbelievable Venture To Cognac, 100-1, yet another massive priced return for you, time and time again.
August 19, 2016 at 16:23 #1260465Nice one Bobby – didn’t see that. Very fast Thesme. Shame 5f is shortest we do
August 19, 2016 at 16:51 #1260468Cracking e/w there Bobby, very well done for digging that one out mate
