Good luck with these VTC.
I’ve lost appetite for the jumps game I must say, though still don’t mind casting my eye over the better races on a Saturday for viewing pleasure.
Dawned on me the other day how good an era we have had recently over jumps and it will be a difficult one to replace any time soon.
November 1, 2014 at 12:09 #494108Thanks tb, yeah, I’d agree, we’ve had a few hard acts to follow in the last few seasons.
I’ve always been a jumps man, but really taken to the flat as well, over the last, probably 10 years, though I found this years flat season really, erm, "flat"
November 1, 2014 at 18:22 #494165Hope you backed Cole Harden today VtC;annoyingly I only got sp and I hardly saw the race cause I had my eyes closed for most of it. Then added Double Ross to my Wayward Prince bet at the last minute because NTD was stood next to us looking nervous as hell [don’t think I’ve ever seen him in the flesh at Wetherby so I reckoned he was expecting a big run from his fella] and just got pipped for second in yet another bloomin’ 7 horse race.
November 1, 2014 at 18:34 #494166I bet him Moe, but only in a Lucky31, and the others didn’t run well, only Embsay Crag ran with credit. So to sum up…….I got a few pennies back haha
Was chuffed to see Double Ross run well, I won a good few quid off him last year, you were very unlucky with him today.
November 1, 2014 at 18:46 #494167Aurore d’Estruval [sp] had a coat that you could have seen your face in..I’ve never seen a chestnut horse look so well in itself. Had a bit of a ‘choke back the tear’ moment when I thought of the times we saw Fair Along at this meeting. Oh, and as I walked back to the paddock after placing my bet on Double Ross I said to Mike ‘don’t know why I did that; Menorah is bound to win’ but we’d decided he had too much weight. Mike always backs the Hobbs horses
.
November 1, 2014 at 18:58 #494170Would never have backed Menorah today moe……..but Wishfull Thinking last week
November 2, 2014 at 10:44 #494280By the way, Mike heard the jockey say that Medermit would really come on for the run [mind you, I guess he woudl say that]. Got a good race in him this year if Alan King keeps him sound
and is placed properly. [oh and Liam gets a 14/1 winner for Venetia; she often uses him instead of Aidan because he gets on so well with some of the horses…I’m chuffed for Liam but totally pee’d off for not backing it ]
November 2, 2014 at 23:43 #494370Always been a big Medermit fan moe, and that was really encouraging yesterday. He’s come back really slowly, but positive signs, and I totally agree that there’s a fair prize in him yet.
I had Ballyoliver today @ 14’s………did I have a nice chunky £20 on him on his own, or did I stick him in a Lucky 31 with no other winners……..
November 3, 2014 at 09:04 #494378I’m chuffed that you were on Liam has such a great strike rate with Balyoliver; in fact he’s brilliant in this sort of contest where he has to slowly get a horse into the race. Any thoughts on The Race that Stops a Nation [and keeps me awake all night]?
November 3, 2014 at 12:35 #494389Should have been a better win though moe, only a couple of pounds back, was a wee bit annoyed with myself,
I’ll not bet anything on it’s own moe, but I’ll have a wee look tonight, and try to dig out a forecast or tricast, be rude not to
November 3, 2014 at 18:44 #494421£6! My bets came to £2.90….
November 4, 2014 at 21:17 #494524What was I saying about Tom Georges horses at this time of year
November 5, 2014 at 12:45 #494559Just make sure you catch them next time moe, nice price for a wee double yesterday
November 16, 2014 at 13:23 #495432Interested to see how Fergals ‘The Govaness’ gets on today; he must think very highly of her.
November 16, 2014 at 13:38 #495437I’ll watch with interest moe………….and stuck £2 on at 20’s just in case
November 16, 2014 at 16:47 #495482Venture what’s the difference between the tricast and trifecta?
I’m guessing the trifecta is a tote based thing?Blackbeard to conquer the World
November 16, 2014 at 19:03 #495499I’ve been asked this before Nathan, and my explanation caused more confusion haha………I’m so eloquent
Yeah, the Trifecta is tote based, and it’s a pool bet, basically any money bet goes into the pool, and the winnings will be divided amongst the number of winning tickets.
The Tricast, I think, is calculated using a computerised return, and this return is calculated by the computer using a formula which is designed by the Bookies. I hope that makes sense………..it was the Tricast I wasn’t good at explaining in the past
