Hi Raymo,
As above post, I really like Argentino in the first, and I’ll have a smaller each way on Vive La France.
In the next, really like USA, with Jacksonslady equally fancied.
Quantitativeeasing is too short for me, but he would have won at Cheltenham, so I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t go close.
I can see Ttebbob running a bigger race than the odds suggest if he gets the race run to suit, and I’ll take a chance on his stablemates Kabjoy, and Sandymount Duke in the last 2 Races.
What about yourself?
April 30, 2015 at 14:30 #930370Ballybroker Brigde in the cross country if he jumps round shouldn’t be 16/1 shot. I Shot The Sheriff against the big boys!!The Rogue Trader with Nina up. Then I have had an insane bet on Melodic Rendezvous e/w at 33/1 and cover bet at 28/1 to finish in first two!! Please don’t ask me the logic on that one!! Then Whiteout against the other two Mullins horses and finally Newsworthy.
Good Luck

I have backed Wuff and Mister Hotelier 4.20 Elsie 4.55 but I fear Perfect promise and then Snake Eyes in the 6.40.Good luck!!

May 1, 2015 at 16:57 #931416Thanks Raymo, managed to get the 14’s as well, so happy with that, as well as couple of pounds back on USA.
Didn’t fancy much at all today, not the best day of The Festival. I only bet Mr Fiftyone in the 1620, and I went with Annie Oakley, and The Housekeeper in the next. Burn and Turn was the main fancy but too short for me. All academic anyway, though I think The Housekeeper is worth keeping an eye on, I had her at a huge price, and thought she’d have went close but for tipping up.

Fancy loads tomorrow, and currently dealing with a pretty lengthy shortlist

May 2, 2015 at 15:02 #933535Well, last day of the thread for me, and great to go out with the thread showing a decent profit, though would have been even sweeter, but for that crossbar Tricast on Tuesday. Not sure whether I’ll stay on this thread with a £0 Balance, or start a new one.
Highlights of the season were the 2 big Trifectas obviously, but as well as being part of that 2nd Trifecta, the winner that day, Mon Parrain, I had a decent bet on at big odds on Betfair, and he was my biggest winner of the season. Other highlights were the ill-fated Balbriggan in The Troytown, Lie Forrit in The Betfred National Trial, Emperors Choice in The Welsh National, Cause of Causes repaying the faith in The 4 Miler at Cheltenham, and Rajdhani Express & Hunt Ball in The Topham……that Rajdhani win was just shaded by the Mon Parrain returns.
Rajdhani Express win ensured a decent Aintree off the back of another couple of winners, and was very welcome after some poor Ante-Post bets ensured Cheltenham was a loser for me. Didn’t bet to gain a green book like I normally do for The Gold Cup, so was always going to be win or bust. Having said that, had Djakadam just got up, and Holywell made it to 3rd, I’d have been a chunky 4 figures better off……….the rain cost me that day, though was good to see Holywell, who I’d been putting up here for the past 2 years as a decent horse, silence the doubters. There’s little doubt he’d have went very close but for the rain. All in all though, a disappointing Cheltenham, which will ensure a different approach Ante-Post wise next year.
Highlights from a non betting perspective included Un De Sceaux. As someone who doesn’t pay too much attention to 2 mile chasers, it was great to see such an exciting horse, and that’s from someone who’s maybe not as excited as others about the Mullins domination of the sport. The only downside was he, for whatever reason, well we do know the reason, wasn’t following up a Champion Hurdle win in 2014, for which he always looked nailed on for last season. The National, the big day of the year, provided another highlight. Despite kicking my TV in, at an insipid ride on one of my bets, it was great to see a horse who had been honestly campaigned, Many Clouds, land the spoils. Hopefully he can go close again next year. Biggest highlight of the year though was Balthazar King getting up.
Time to (try) and take a wee break, as the period of May, up to Royal Ascot, is probably the least appealing to me, with not much to float my boat, so no doubt, bar the odd race, I’ll put the feet up.
