Thanks Sungold, delighted with him, so close. Slightly annoyed at not getting the 50’s, as the four places was with Skybet, but it was a decent bet.

Decent night all round, as money comfortably back from Father Jed too, so hopefully can carry that over tomorrow, as I’m about to update with a few (definitely too many) bets tomorrow.

Great start with Gulliver the other day, nice return, and should have won, but yet again, left cursing the ride. I’ll rarely have a bet in The National Stakes, so well happy with Al Rifa

Less said the better with the rest.

These all mentioned already in big races, bar A Different World at Navan, and price will dictate with him whether Win or EW

Bob, I’m back on dry land again, well for a couple of weeks anyway. I hope you and yours as well. You know I’m not a Flat man, but what were your thoughts on Escobar dropped back to 6 yesterday?

Interesting bet in The Cesarewitch with Favourite Moon, you’d have to be chuffed with him the other day. I thought he looked undercooked, but still won well.

Is The Ten To Follow back this year?

Oh and well done with The National Stakes, another JOB horse for you to make hay with no doubt

Good to see you back Mark, hopefully for an extended stay? Ten To Follow definitely back mate, and it’ll be up an running next month.

Strange choice I thought for Escobar, and didn’t even consider him when he was 40’s, but thought he coped well, and definitely worth another go.

Really happy with Favourite Moon, but after getting cut across the board for Newmarket, bit of pink now on Oddschecker, which isn’t a good sign. I’d love it if he went, and he’s still a good price.

Kerry National tomorrow, and very keen on Hewick, but after missing him twice at 16’s, I’ll sit him out here. Not a big Antepost loser, but had a couple of quid on Midnight Run, so with Freewheelin Dylan getting bet, and almost betting Embittered too, I’ll stick with one (for now)

Yeah, chuffed to bits with Al Rifa, definitely one for me to follow, really like him, and you know I like to follow his

Very poor run from Freewheelin, and he’s either gone, or getting geared up for a spring target. Their change of tactics makes me think it’s the latter.

Thread been paying its way with in running lays, and big EW’s, but been a while since I put up a decent winner, with Al Rifa a smaller one, so hoping that changes with a busy Saturday.

Strange for me to be cool on The Cambridgeshire, but after dodging a bullet Antepost, I’ll go with Geremia, if he gets any kind of a decent start No bet

I really like Meditate at Newmarket as well, but too short on a busy day, while same applies to Justanotherbottle, but I will add him if he drifts in any shape or form.

Nibblers Charm is one I bet occasionally, and he’s first selection at Listowel. Later on card I’m changing Killashee (Non Runner) while although Father Jed will be topped up EW six places, I’ve nabbed the 28’s. I’m seriously considering Goodnightgodbless in same race, and if any earlier joy, I’ll be adding him.

In the finale at The Curragh, I’m chancing Yermanthere. Bet him once this season, and he’s a solid enough type without bring one to put maximum faith in. This might be his chance up in trip again, thought he ran ok in Bold Lad

    1430 Listowel – Nibblers Charm 16’s EW5

Good start yesterday with Nibblers. Don’t think he’d have won anyway, but brought to a standstill in the straight, so a good run in the circumstances.

Swithered with Geremia for about a furlong, having started ok I thought, but pulled back straight away, which put me right off. Killashee didn’t want to take part.

Yermanthere was poor again, and doubt I’ll bet him a third time. I’ll definitely bet Father Jed again, for all he was disappointing.

Irish Cesarewitch today, and went with a couple, Yaxeni, and Falcon Eight. No EW, and I’ll just try to claw stakes back in running.

Earlier on the card I though Dexter Belle a big price. This is a different cup of tea from The Bold Lad, but she’s worth a go. In the last I’m planning to bet Nemean back in trip, but drifting just now, and mind not made up. Any luck earlier, and I might be tempted. Might be one for in running at reduced odds.

Such a big run from Falcon Eight, and paid his way in running, but what a ride for the winner.

Pair of notebook horses, Holly and Quid Pro Quo, out at Chepstow today. Particularly hopeful of a big season from Holly, but no surprise to see both of them just come up short of their best today.

Having one bet though, and with Berkshire Rebel in The Old Rowley Cup.

Beaten after ten yards that one, and readily swerved from now on.

Good to see McFabulous tomorrow over fences. Should be a few races in him, not that I’ll be able to bet him too often, as he’ll usually be a short enough price.

Main hope tomorrow is Favourite Moon, and would be a nice one to come off.

Looking at Gulliver, Dexter Belle, and Goodnightgodbless tomorrow as well, but still sorting out.

    Sprint Trophy – Gulliver 8’s

Poor run continues. Not too bothered with most of them, but Favourite Moon was biggest loss for a while. He was a “greedy” bet, and I didn’t get a sniff. Thought he was bang there about four, five furlongs out, but folded very, very quickly. Run For Oscar winning, a horse I bet a couple of times last year, didn’t help matters.

Onwards again though, and back with Chiefofchiefs again. The opening 7’sxwas unreal. The heart says yet, but the head says he’ll find a way to get beat again.

Later on, for the first time in ages, I’m with Tralee Hills. Bet him in this last year, and he just missed out, off 5lbs higher. Happy to see him reunited with Nico De Boinville, and I’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t get me an EW at least.

Tralee Hills really should have won, but very good result, as got a decent lay in running, and good to get one on the board, but less impressive was Chiefofchiefs, and perhaps his best days now behind him.

    Smashing card at Punchestown today.

My old pal Galvin back out, and if he wins here, then it’s Gold Cup again. However, I still reckon there must be a chance that it’s actually Aintree which is the plan, in which case, he might not win here. Either way, he’s not a backable price tomorrow, and I’m actually very close to backing stablemate Battleoverdoyen again

Call Me Lyreen continues to be a big hope for me over fences this year, and if he sticks to 11-2, 6’s I’ll be backing him. Really like this horse.

In the last, Brandt is a very interesting newcomer, and I’ll be watching him closely.

One horse I’m definitely betting is Charli Parcs. Running a huge race at Listowel a couple weeks back, and a repeat of that should see him bang there.

    Call Me Lyreen 15-2

Ok from Call Me Lyreen, but jumping needs work, and looking more likely to be one for a decent handicap this year.

Delighted with Charli Parcs, making a decent profit off him after her went very low. Distance got him, and back to minimum trip, he’s surely winning soon. Just a case of catching him at a price now.

Love Champions Day st Ascot, and as per big races, I’m with a few, who although big prices, should hopefully give me a bit of fun.

Golden Twilight of interest in the last at Leopardstown, and I’ll bet him, if the price suits

Tralee Hills back out today, and after the decent payday from him last time, got to back in again. He’s been a great horse to follow, but although I prefer it when hes a chunky price, the 11’s still looked a bit wrong. Was in two minds about EW, and I thought it made more sense to plan to lay in running, but I took the EW, should he not reach the leaders.

At Doncaster, I sacrificed the four places to go with Maltese Falcon, as the 14’s with Bet365 was too big. I’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t make the frame for a yard I like (Non Runner)

Better opening card at Cheltenham than there’s been for a few years, and I thought on a couple of runs, that Nick Lost was worth a chance at 40’s. I’ve taken the six places, so I’m hoping he doesn’t go too much bigger.

Very rare poor run from Tralee Hills, but delighted with that from Nick Lost, and a nice return from him. Big run, and I’ll be betting him again, very happy with that.

Cracking weekends racing, and had to do a fair bit of cutting. Love betting at Kelso, but reluctantly left out Melburnian, who gave me that big return a few weeks back, and also Hill Sixteen. Both will be of interest as the season goes on.

Kansas City Chief and Editeur Du Gite are the Cheltenham selections, as per Big Races.

Goes without saying that I’ll be betting Euchen Glen, but work cut out against Hamish, and it’ll be a sentimental bet, unless I see anything in running. Certainly can’t be putting him up as a selection.

He could bomb out, or he might get stuck in the stalls, but at Doncaster, Justanotherbottle is just too big to ignore.

I was really impressed by Federal last time, and the type I could see myself latching on to, and I’ve chanced him at Leopardstown (Non Runner)

Kansas City Chief was brutal, and it was safe to say Editeur wasn’t winning when he hit 8’s before the off, but not for the first time, despite losing, Justanotherbottle paid his way. I took 140’s before the off, and comfortably made a nice profit on him in running. As I said, I can’t ignore him when he’s a big price, and that’s when he was 33’s, 40’s. Once hit 100’s+, it was basically a guaranteed win if he jumped off.

Smashing racing today, and as per Big Races, I’ll be with Wishing and Hoping (saver on Dingo), Do Your Job, Donkey Years, and Coko Beach.

I’d love to bet Falcon Eight, who would’ve won The Irish Cesarewitch with a better ride, but he’s odds on, while at Aintree, I’m adding Wishing and Hoping, Bridge North, and Lifetime Legend.

Much much better Sunday. Might have been a saver, but old Dingo Dollar was a good winner, and just a very good race all in. Decent profit in running from Wishing and Hoping, and the exacta thrown in. Only had two minor exactas last season, so that was welcome.

Munster National was a big betting race, and got money back from the pair of them, particularly Coko Beach, and Lifetime Legend also paid in play.

Don’t think Do Your Job would’ve won, even without the mistake, but surely one to follow. Bridge North was just poor.

    Couple catch the eye today.

Very rare I’ll bet at Nottingham, but around 22’s, Peggy Sioux looks worth chancing, and only reservation is the ground.

Future Romance was a big hope a while back, and though she’s got the trip, and a layoff to contend with, she’s surely a fair price around 20’s

Future Romance was dismal, but absolutely delighted with Peggy Sioux, who was a very good second at 50’s. I followed the same approach as with Justanotherbottle, and got a great profit close to home, off the bigger exchange odds. Only beaten by a very promising sort in Tarhib, who’s straight in the notebook for next year.

Charlie Hall Day, but as expected, no bet in the race this year, and I’ll enjoy Wetherby without a bet there.

Before Midnight and Regal Encore are the bets at Ascot, as per race threads. Took 9-2 BOG on Before Midnight and hopefully he can go out a couple of points. Can’t believe I didn’t take the double figures for Gumball though, and it’ll hurt if he does it. Daly Tiger will be getting a close eye too.

At Ayr, if The Ferry Master drifts slightly to a bigger price, I’ll add him, as the yard seem more forward this year, while I just wish Dallas Des Pictons was bigger too. Same applies to Ropey Guest at Newmarket, and I’m close with him, after missing him a few times this year.

Really looking forward to seeing The Big Galloper at Galway. He’s my long term Pertemps hope, and though they’ve got another more obvious one now in Shoot First, I’m going to do an Antepost on him anyway. I’ve put a good few up from the yard over the years, and just love following them, for all it looks like I’ll be on the wrong one this time. (non runner)

Shame about The Nice Guy setback, but a wee reminder that it was a wise move to be more careful with the Cheltenham bets this year

Byrne Group – Before Midnight 9-2
    Bateaux – Regal Encore 20’s EW 5pls
