Not so good from Ilikedwayurthinkin today, but very happy with Escaria Ten, and I’d give him a massive chance in The Kim Muir off the back of that.

Having a bet tomorrow, and very interested in the big handicap at Wincanton.

Regal Flow has been a decent horse to follow the last few years, and he seems to be continually overpriced. He had genuine excuses at Sandown, losing a show, and 40’s is huge. He’s getting on, but must have one last hurrah in him.

Time To Get Up is one I’ve been waiting to see back out. He’s also big at 16’s, and a big run here, could see him emerge as an interesting one for The Kim Muir. Looks like just the type you’d want for that. He’s not bet yet, as I’d love 20’s.

Over at Down Royal, Bitview Colin is a big price again. I’d be less than confident that his jumping won’t get in the way, but if he can put in a clear round, he’s a big price. I’m hoping to beat 25’s.

In the 1335, Sergeant showed a bit of promise last time, and I’ll chance him EW at a big price too. Unlikely, but he did catch my eye throughout the race, and with his finishing effort, and at the price, I can take a chance.

    1335 Wincanton – Sergeant 66’s EW
    1410 Wincanton – Regal Flow 40’s EW 4pls
1410 Wincanton – Time To Get Up

Didn’t get near 20’s for Time To Get Up, but very happy with 16’s, and 14’s, and I really liked the way he did that. The rest were average, but delighted with that for a Thursday.

He’s definitely going to be one I’ll be following now, and hoping to see him in The Kim Muir or Ultima betting very soon.

Crazy days Racing, and few bets on the go, but with the amount of bets, no proper big ones, though I’ve had a go with Or Jaune De Somoza. I’ll definitely be looking to lay everything off at some point.

They’re all in Big Races, so saves me a lot of typing. I still haven’t decided on The Ladbroke.

I’ve cashed out original selection Yala Enki in The Cotswold. Sitting thinking “Why am I not with Native River” how I thought I could watch him in this without being with him, I’ll never know. I’ve decided to have a good swing at him

Dublin Chase – Tornado Flyer 20’s EW
Irish Arkle – Felix Desjy 12’s
    Cotswold – Native River 6’s

Some day that Saturday, and thank god for my old legend Native River, and Or Jaune De Somoza. Certainly biggest bet of the day the old boy, and the 66’s on Somoza was the cherry

As I said, it was madness not to be on Native River, I wish I could always apply common sense like that

    Another great card at Leopardstown

I was hoping to bet Blanketontheground, but she’s looking very unlikely to get in now. Had a long look at Mrs Milner and Robinnia, but I’ll sit it out.

In the 1410, I think Master McShee is well worth a crack at this, and he looks a fair price too, but Appreciate It is surely tough to beat here. I’ve decided to have a bet though, and I’m giving Magic Tricks another try. He looks a long term prospect now, and he’s one I’ll no doubt be following over the next few years. He was brutal last time, but he surely can’t be that bad today. The four places makes a difference and he’s a massive price.

In The William Fry Hurdle, Pure Genius is a notebook horse, and the 9’s was more than I expected. I had to go with Koshari as well. He’s possibly too obvious, but at 10’s, very happy to cover him. Watching the market with The Jam Man.

In The Flogas, Monkfish looks a hard horse to beat, but after chewing it over, I just can’t desert Andy Dufresne. Been keeping tabs on him since Day One, and though clearly not the top drawer horse they were expecting, he’s still very good. Certainly see him as a possible Irish National type, but I’m happy to chance him in this.

I’m with Delta Work Antepost in the big one, and though I wasn’t impressed by the yards runners yesterday, I’m hopeful. On his day, The Storyteller is miles better than his odds suggest. I reckon this is nothing more than a quiet spin for him, and I can see him being held out the back, never making a challenge, but I’m not letting him go without a bet when he’s double figures.

At The Acorn was my long term fancy in The Gaelic Plant Hire Chase, but he needs one more to come out. Took 16’s anyway, but now confirmed out.I’ve ended up with Treaceysenniscorthy for the win, and Scoir Mear will be my EW.

Loads of dangers. Crossed My Mind is a worthy favourite, while I’ve mentioned Farclas a few times as a big winner waiting to happen, particularly at the big spring festivals. He’s very hard to leave out, but can’t bet em all.

    Possible – The Jam Man

Much much better today, though still no winner.

Like yesterday, went with one big bet, which was Pure Vision. He faded in the end, but comfortably got my stake back, and his time will come.

Delighted with The Storyteller, and money back from him and Treaceysenniscorthy.

Decent return with Scoir Mear, who I managed to get 35’s on, and he put me comfortably ahead on the day. I’d put Off You Go up on here a few weeks back, as one to follow, but I missed him today. Still, delighted with Scoir Mear.

    Of the other three….

Delta Work – Not giving up on him, and he’ll still have a big run in him

Magic Tricks – Getting a nice education, and he’ll no doubt be one I’ll be following for a good few seasons

    Koshari – Coral Cup?

Very rare bet in a Jumpers Bumper today. Myplaceatmidnight has ability, and having been very disappointing over fences, I think the 25’s is generous. I don’t like putting up a “Midnight” on this thread, unless I think it’s worth it, and I really do think that a fair price.

This is a real unlikely one, but I’ve went for Brex Drago at Thurles. Very poor of late, but he just hasn’t taken to fences so far. He was decent back in the day, and if it could just click, he could come in at a big price one day. Not necessarily today of course.

I’m not betting Risk Factor in the 1450, but he’s still a horse I’m fairly interested in.

There’s not many “Midnights” I’m willing to put up on this thread, but even after the poor run of Myplaceatmidnight, I’m willing to give Fiveaftermidnight a Chance today.

Clearly a horse with ability, and I get the impression connections target her for a couple of big runs a year. She can get competitive here if today’s the day, and I’ve bet her EW.

With not many bets today, I’ve taken both A Great View and Gun Digger to go with her.

I’m not even going to try to explain myself with Fascino Rustico in the 1525, he’s 150’s, but I’ve bet him anyway to win at those odds, and also to five places.

Finally in the 1600, I’m hoping to beat 4’s for You Raised Me Up.

Saw this one last night VTC and I’ve put it up too. Fiveaftermidnight gl. Looks to have a great chance of at least getting into the frame being bottom weight and the only course and distance winner. Well done with Native River

Very happy with You Raised Me Up, and the 9-2 was very welcome. The other pair were poor, but Fascino Rustico was topped up at 430’s, and I almost got a Kay I running, so close. Good to get a run for my money from one at that price………for all he was three furlongs behind at the end.

Bet a few today at Punchestown.

Happy enough today, Thunderosa did it really well, and I was pleased to have stuck by him.

Agonising in the big one, but a very nice profit from Screaming Colours, not that it softened the blow at the time. Couple of hours on, and it’s actually a nice reminder of why I lay them in running.

If all well with Midnight Maestro, he’s winning again. Absolutely cantering when he belted one. He looked ok, but rider pulled him up straight away. Definitely one for another day.

Some weekend ahead, and should leave it alone Friday, but bet a few at Kelso, as it’s a decent card.

Vintage Clouds has a decent chance at the weights, and I couldn’t leave the 7’s alone, while Elvis Mail looked really big at 5’s. Off The Beat is a notebook horse of mine, and I’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t go close at 8’s.

Countister is harder to make a case for on ground and form alone, but she’s just so well handicapped, and she could benefit from change of scenery, being another JP transfer to Ben Haslam.

    1420 – Off The Beat 8’s
    1450 – Vintage Clouds 7’s
    1520 – Countister

Seriously good day, and had to reign it in a bit. Goes without saying, I’ll lay off where possible.

    Ascot
The Ascot Chase is a small but select field. Cyrname is obviously star attraction, and Riders Onthe Storm is no mug, but I’m with Dashel Drasher and Master Tommytucker, both Antepost. Spoke about them enough, but for tomorrow, I’m not sure how Tommy will get on with Jacob, but I’m hopeful, while Dashel has been excellent this year. I’ve bet him for Ryanair, and I’ll know tomorrow if that’s realistic or not. I’m not convinced, he’s good, but I don’t know if he’s that good.

In The Swinley, Jerrysback looks a deserved fav, I’m a big fan, but I’m happy to leave at the odds. Not for the first time I’m with Regal Encore. This is his track, this is his level, he’s still in good form, he’s on a realistic mark, and he’s overpriced again, so I’ve topped up 12’s, and hoping he goes bigger. Love him. I’ve bet Sub Lieutenant as a dark one for Aintree. His run here in December is worth a second look, he was really staying on, and I don’t think he’s out the places here. Still haven’t decided whether to bet him or not. Cloudy Glen worth a mention too, and he’s got a big prize in him.

The big Handicap Hurdle is a cracker, and I can’t split Malaya or Dans Le Vent. On a busy day, I’ll have to sit it out, but any earlier luck, and I might have a go.

The Reynoldstown is a poor looking renewal, but if Demachine was a bit bigger, I’d be with him, think he’ll go very close.

    Haydock
The opener sees The Ferry Master back out. This is a shorter race than I expected to see him back in, so at shorter odds, he’s one I’ll leave out, but a very promising type.

In The Rendlesham, I’m hoping Donna’s Diamond can sneak a place. I’ve topped up at 100’s. He looks a 100’s for a reason, but there’s just a chance his whole season is geared around this. I’ve bet him Antepost and I’ll top up 100’s, but might even go bigger again.

The National trial is a bit messy for me. I’ve been waiting out Ramses De Teille all season, but I really wanted to see him in The Ultima. He’s the best of these by a mile, so this might be his for the taking, and probably be a bottomer for the rest of the year. I missed the 25’s, so I can’t bring myself to take the 12’s. I ended up with Perfect Candidate and Achille. Candidate is probably up against it off his new mark, but he’s worth a go at 20’s+. Achille should run his race.

The Pertemps Qualifier is a cracker. I’ve bet Champagne Platinum “any race” for Cheltenham, so a place will do me here. I think Captain Moirette will go close here, and I’ll also cover the slightly disappointing Elf De Re. Redford Road wasn’t easy to pass cover.

    Wincanton
I’ve already got too many on the radar for The Pertemps, but one of the more unlikely ones, Kansas City Chief, runs in the 1558, and I had to take him at decent odds. Rider is worth the 7lb claim, and I give them a live chance.

In the next is Sizing at Midnight. He’s been a slow burner this horse from his early days in Ireland, but he’s looked a different animal this year. He’s an easy one to leave out today at the relatively short odds, but he looks one to keep in mind for the spring festivals. I’d say he’s perfect for either The Ultima, or the Three Mile Handicap Chase on Grand National Day.

    Rendlesham – Donna’s Diamond 125’s EW
    Swinley – Regal Encore 12’s
    Swinley – Sub Lieutenant 28’s
    National Trial – Achille 9’s
National Trial – Perfect Candidate 20’s
Ascot Chase – Dashel Drasher 14’s EW
Ascot Chase – Master Tommytucker 5’s
    Pertemps – Captain Moirette 25’s
Pertemps – Elf De Re 40’s
    1558 Wincanton – Kansas City Chief 22’s

I know GT, hard one to take, second biggest bet of the season that, thankfully got it back near the end.
