Really enjoyed Saturday, very good day. I’d mentioned a few times that Sharjah and Ontheropes were much bigger Antepost losers recently, so got it back and much more with them being main bets. Just love Sharjah, and really encouraged by Ontheropes. More to come, and delighted with the 50’s, though slightly annoyed at not getting 66’s
One bet tomorrow, as per the race thread, with Haut Estime in The Highland National. Laid stake back on her, for a free race, as much shorter now.
If she does it, I’ll bet Coopers Cross, who’s been a loser for me this season.
Highland National- Haut Estime 33’s (Laid stake on race)
April 26, 2024 at 23:29 #1691869Sensible decision to take the free race at Perth. Second time this season I’ve got a free race out of her, but unlikely to be a third time, as I can’t see me betting her again.
Couple of bigger bets in The Bet365 Gold Cup, a bit of interest with Editeur Du Gite, while at Haydock, I thought Zip had a lot going for him.
Hoping to follow Shagpyle this year, but missed the 5’s, which just might have tempted me, so I’ll try her later in year

Call Me Lord 100’s EWApril 28, 2024 at 13:45 #1692140Great shout with Minella Coconer there Bobby – feels like you have had another good season of it – you definitely put the work in and deserved results.
April 28, 2024 at 19:20 #1692189Cheers Ken, delighted with him, and fingers crossed he makes it to Aintree now. Yeah, happy with the season, a few standouts making the big difference, but Feb/Mar was tough going, very happy to have had a good April
April 28, 2024 at 19:30 #1692190Well done with Minella Cocooner, sickened I didn’t back him but glad somebody did
April 28, 2024 at 19:41 #1692192Thanks Grass, and as you know, a feeling I know only too well.
April 30, 2024 at 00:35 #1692290Last week of my season, so going for it with a few of them this week.
Slight amendments to my selections on The Festival thread. I’m still tying myself in knots with Banbridge and Dysart Dynamo, so I’ve sat that out until I see how earlier races go. Still plan to bet the pair of them, but by the time that happens I might be priced out out of Banbridge.
Decided to add Ile Atlantique instead

Dooley – Sharjah 33’s EWApril 30, 2024 at 23:45 #1692371Mainly disappointing today, but took stake back on Sharjah before the off. Just made sense, as was a fair bet, and given how he ran. Try my best not to aftertime, but did have a late one on Banbridge when he hit 6’s, so not a complete washout.
Just betting in the three race’s Wednesday.
Appreciate It will be a decent sized bet, and don’t think there’ll be a Sharjah style plunge on him, but hoping to recoup in running

1800 The GofferMay 2, 2024 at 00:54 #1692457Washout Day Three for me, but Appreciate surely wins a nice race next year. I’ll
have another go Thursday, as Friday will be very quiet for me anyway.I like Holly in the opener. Notebook horse of mine, much improved this season, and hoping the claimer makes the difference.
Uncle Phil another notebook horse, but still missed him when he won. Reluctantly passing him over. Still considering stablemate Saint Roi, but only one I’m definitely betting is Rebel Gold. Smashing run last time, down in grade, and I’ll stick with the claimer again
Coko Beach a proper fav of mine, but too short for me to bet. I’ll go with Subset, course winner who’s way too big
Sire Du Berlais is my Antepost pick later, and in the following hurdle, going with Kilbeg King and What Path. If my luck turns earlier, I wouldn’t rule out me backing Chantry House

What Path 40’s EW 6PlsMay 4, 2024 at 00:13 #1692700Thought long and hard what to say about losing Sire Du Berlais, but can’t really articulate it properly. Genuinely numb, the worst ever for me, and one of my favourite horses ever. So many good days from him, and I’m sorry he went like that. I could just go on and on. Absolutely beyond gutted
I’ve covered before that I don’t defend it anymore, and I’m not wholly comfortable with it, but I’ll keep on, though probably for the best that my season finishes tomorrow.
Big hope tomorrow is Ontheropes. This is just the race for him to get his mark up for Aintree, which I think is a realistic target. Credo is the backup. Digby and Risk Belle the other selections.
Considering Geremia and Killybegs Warrior at Newmarket, but the one I’m definitely betting is Love Billy Boy. Think he’s very appealing around 16’s, stepping up in trip, and one I’ll probably start following now, when he’s a price

May 5, 2024 at 12:52 #1693002Better yesterday, with ew money on Credo, and Love Billy Boy getting me a nice profit at the end. That run certainly cemented it, and he’ll definitely be getting followed this year.
Ontheropes remains high on the list for Aintree. Digby was a huge disappointment, and I had that race in mind for Risk Belle months ago. I was way off.
Season supposed to be finished, but I’m heading off to Hamilton in about ten minutes to see Euchen Glen, so it seems only right to finish off with him.
Decent season for me, and most importantly a few big priced winners, but that fair lull, especially Feb/Mar, and a very disappointing Cheltenham, meant it wasn’t a great one. The loss of Sire Du Berlais at the end, meant it’s one I won’t look back on too often
Euchen Glen 16’s
May 5, 2024 at 12:55 #1693005I’ll 100% bet Midnight Strike at some point before the next thread, so I’ll stick him up, as I may rock up with a bigger price than he is at the time. I’ll be watching the markets for that race
