He was running away throughout the race and was doing nothing once he hit the front – I think he would have gone close in the Supreme yesterday.
March 16, 2016 at 14:05 #1237995Yorkhill was value for a bigger winning margin but would Yanworth have been closer if he hadn’t taken the widest route of the whole field?
It’s simple mathematics: Yanworth was beaten five or six metres, yet covered at least fifty metres more than the winner through the race. The best horse lost through a bad ride, unfortunately.
March 16, 2016 at 14:06 #1237997When Min was weak in ante-post markets and Yorkhill was being backed for the Supreme it was fairly obvious either Min was disappointing them at home or Yorkhill was particularly pleasing them. After Min ran really well yesterday the answer must be the latter.
To be honest they’re saying Ruby rode a super race and Barrry not so. But had Popham done his job properly and not left a big gap Ruby would’ve been red faced. Still, the best horse won.
First two are a pair of brilliant novices.
Value Is EverythingMarch 16, 2016 at 14:09 #1238002Yorkhill was much the better horse. Not an ideal Yanworth ride, but given the potential quirks, understandable. Winner would have won anyway – plenty in hand
