Jesus wept, you trying to give me convulsions?
January 28, 2012 at 23:28 #388842Actually thought BBB ran a decent race for a 3-miler, Fist. Gave a lot of his hurdles plenty of air. Whereas he’ll be well represented in the Supreme & Neptune, I can’t see too many possible runners in the Albert Bartlett & I reckon he’ll be the one. 20/1 with Skybet, unquoted with everybody else. Will e-mail around and see if I can get me some 25s or even 33s.
January 29, 2012 at 05:22 #388861Could be but the fears were he wouldn’t act on the course and to be honest it looked to be the case. Not much sense in running a test and ignoring the result, he looked to struggle with the hill.
Only a guess but he’s got that few showing enough to run at the Festival at the moment I think he’ll rest him miss the Albert keep him for Aintree.

And it had Stinkler on it’s back
February 1, 2012 at 13:39 #389303Has anyone heard anything re Captain Conan and where (if anywhere) he goes at the festival?
More likely to be saved for Punchestown?
February 1, 2012 at 15:25 #389316Well there’s no way he runs in the Supreme and apparently the Criminal (ironic title, if there are any lawyers reading) was extremely dismissive of his chances at Cheltenham at an open day at 7Barrows last week.
February 1, 2012 at 15:43 #389322Zarks: Shame, thought he would go well in the Neptune, maybe being saved and put away then!
February 8, 2012 at 14:12 #390330All may not be lost for Captain Conan backers!!
Mr Henderson is sending him across the sea to line up in Sundays Deloitte Hurdle where he will face proper grade one opposition!
They are testing him to see whether he is up to the challenge of Cheltenham! I for one will be backing him and hoping he goes well and finishes the race of strongly
February 8, 2012 at 14:41 #390335I for one will be monitoring this race closely with an eye on slapping a further point or two on colour squadron. Captain wins and then i’ll go in on the squadron reversing form.
February 8, 2012 at 15:12 #390343Criminal (ironic title, if there are any lawyers reading) Henderson said today that he’s leaning towards skipping the Festival with Captain Conan.
February 8, 2012 at 15:23 #390347First post on this race and as of now I’ve still got a rather long short list. No individual analysis yet but I’m quite happy to add my reasoning after the weekend when targets may become a tad clearer
SIMONSIG, BOSTON BOB, COPPER MILL, CORBALLY GHOST, FINGAL BAY, MOUNT BENBULBEN, DYLAN ROSS, NATURAL HIGH
I’d be quite shocked if the winner isn’t listed above.
**** EDIT Scrub Natural High from the above, just found out Moyglare sold him last week, no way they’d do that if had a chance at The Festival
February 8, 2012 at 15:39 #390349Sorry meant clour squad in the supreme.
Very similar list to me CS except i would not have Copper Mill and include MONKSLAND.

Sketti
Noel Meade does have a strong hand, Corbally Ghost looked the real deal the way he beat beating Midnight Game. I see he’s taken Dylan Ross out so, OK, Monklands is in, just. Thanks for making me look at him again (second string for the stable) but I can’t leave Copper Mill out, sorry!February 8, 2012 at 15:58 #390354My fear is Monksland might end up in the but I am just going on Meades quote on him being aimed at neptune. i hope he goes, the way he pulled clear last time and whip of the tail screams more to come.
February 8, 2012 at 16:13 #390356The horses who’ve posted a rating good enough to win this race are;
Simonsig, Boston Bob, Fingal Bay, Sous Le Cieux, Broadback Bob and Mount Benbulben.
Everything else falls below the standard required at the moment.

If only all races were won by the top rated horse wouldn’t we all be very rich?
February 8, 2012 at 16:30 #390362Sorry Zark Monksland has too. Been lclosely at this.
However, Meade so a huge no to you. Meade has however won the neptune recently, significantly better than simonsig trainers record too. Front 3 in the betting in this one for me.
Hoping Bob goes albert bartlett then i’ll smash in to the other 2.
