This has to be a serious target for Escaria Ten.
Decent run today at Thurles, and seriously considered him at 50’s before the off. Didn’t get a sniff of it during the race, as Bet365 withdrew him in running, and then missed the 33’s as well, other than in a few multis I had built.
If I want him in a single now, he’s best priced 20’s.
I think that’s a fair price still, but I’m trying my hardest not to have too many here. Seriously thinking about it though. I’d like a decent NRNB price though.
December 22, 2020 at 12:10 #1514935Bit of a stretch (in more ways than one) but I’ve added Chantry House for this at 25/1. It’s no secret that this season’s novice chasers are a fine bunch and, given his below par effort the last day, it might be fair to think Shishkin, Envoi Allen, Monkfish and now Allart might want to be avoided.
While almost doubling the trip of last year’s Supreme third may be unheard-of, his class may be enough to see him home under a coaxing Derek O’Connor ride.
December 22, 2020 at 12:46 #1514940Wow Tom that’s certainly outside the box lol.
Not only is he a massive price to end up here, he’s a massive price to be a competitive given Nicky’s sketchy record with chasers over a long trip (don’t have the figures in front of me, but remember it being highlighted for Ok Corral’s participation).

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!December 22, 2020 at 12:55 #1514945It certainly is Jack, although when you weigh up where his best chance of winning might be given the four novice chase options, this may well be it. On the flip side of that of course this may be his least likely destination, although at 25/1 I don’t mind tossing a couple of coppers at it
December 26, 2020 at 14:58 #1515217Surely If The Cap Fits has to go here after today’s performance? Looked like he wants 6 miles plus, even given the caveat that he was on a relatively speedy track.
Waiting for him to be priced up.
January 6, 2021 at 18:27 #1516643Cashed out Latest Exhibition. May lose the cash out option when it goes NRNB so had to make a decision.
January 6, 2021 at 23:03 #1516676Still having crazy thoughts about Chantry House ending up here. Could really see him doing a Minella Rocco, ending up at Ascot for the Reynoldstown and steaming home late before letting Derek lob along on him over the further trip in March. Am I mad?
January 7, 2021 at 07:42 #15166856s available on Latest Exhibition NRNB Mike, which seems a fair price; can see him being shorter if he goes in this.
January 7, 2021 at 09:12 #1516692Cheers PIB but having to cash out at 25s, thinking he will more likely go RSA,and on Galvin at 14s. All these things considered I’m in no rush to back him at that price.
January 7, 2021 at 11:52 #1516702Hed beat galvin out of sight if turning up i reckon
6s nrnb is probably twice what he should be
January 7, 2021 at 12:39 #1516705Out of sight in a NH Chase against an Elliott hotpot? That’s a bold statement.
January 7, 2021 at 13:37 #1516711Not much doubt in my mind that LE is the better horse. Whether Galvin is better suited to the trip and style of running the NHC provides is another matter.
I think there’s value in a 6/1 NRNB price but I’m not interested in tying up money now to find out.
January 7, 2021 at 13:57 #1516716I think Galvin is being underestimated a little bit. He ran Imperial Aura to 3 and a quarter lengths in a speed contest and that horse is currently a 163 horse with a possibility to go even higher after Cheltenham. With the promise of a trip that is going to suit (don’t see why the trainer has put him away for this if not), then whoever beats an on form Galvin would have to run to a high number for a NH Chase.
January 7, 2021 at 14:15 #1516718The way galvin travelled and ran in that 2m4f handicap is what gives me huge doubts about him in this
Id be dubious about him settling well enough to stay the 3m6f
Can see him overacing early and something outstaying him
Be interesting to see what mullins is going to run
January 7, 2021 at 14:58 #1516721Tbf he’s run over 3 miles since then and he wasn’t stopping. Will see if anything of grade 1 calibre turns up.
January 7, 2021 at 15:20 #1516723Patrick does like to steal a potential RSA runner
January 9, 2021 at 16:18 #1517046Dickie Diver 33/1. Great comeback run staying on nicely and jumping pretty well for debuting in a handicap. He has the backform that if he’s targeted here he’d be a short price. JP likes one in this and he doesn’t have much else for it.
