Hello guys, its been a very disappointing July for the system with only tomorrow left. We have survived a losing run of 16 and still came out smiling but these low prices are absolutely unexpected. The reason that this method is so profitable even after losing runs is the good prices that I expect, I never bet anything that I expect to be lower than 5/1. OK, there are a couple that drop a bit below that marginally, but when there is a losing run of 9 and all that I can get is a poxy 3/1 winner, I get bloody mad. I was lucky cos I had todays at 7.2 on BF but those low prices are hurting. This month we’ve had 7/2’s and 11/4’s, they’re no good to man nor beast, were in profit again this month but I will write 100 times… "I must do better"……<br>:angry: :angry:

I’m pleased to get July out of the way….. as I said to Nick Hatton early on in the thread, June was my worst month for a long time cos that only made a profit of 20pts to level stakes, it seems like were degrading slowly cos this month only saw a profit of 11.25pts to levels, lets hope that August proves a bit better…. This has got to be one of the hardest ways to make money, there are lots who will tell you that they win every month, month after month after month, but you can take that with a pinch of salt, it just aint that easy but Snowy had it right when he said that he’d go for something that earned him 50pts a year, my target is a bit higher than that but in essence, he is correct. If there is anyone that can really and consistently make profits, they need pampering, because the real good boys are few and far between and to be honest, if they’re that good, they would have no need to frequent message boards. I suppose what I’m saying is, if your following anybody on here, let ’em know cos if you dont show interest, the post will drop away…. We have some good ‘uns on here at present, Matron, Daz, Nick, Paul, Kersley and the Robot and a few others, be sure to keep ’em hooked, and if there’s any "lurkers" out there, show yourselves, c’mon in, we don’t bite…. well, that old Urby fella has been known to get a bit hungry but there a bit like that down Norfolk way…… so c’mon guys, enter Ward 7 with the rest of these nutters cuz were gonna have us a ball…..<br>:biggrin: :biggrin: :biggrin:

Keep on truckin’ Mr E. It’s a new month and we start off with renewed optomism……..however I think your profit so far is excellent. Just one thing, are there any more filters you can add to cut down the number of bets, without losing the winners. I feel your system would be perfect with simply 2 horses a day maximum. You have no doubt thought of this already, but maybe someone here on the forum who knows how you arrive at your selections can throw a fresh light on it.<br> Keep up the good work:cheesy:

Boo!!!…. smee again, we’ve had two winners outa the last twenty selections, that is pure unadulterated crap and if I’d have had this happen previously, I wouldn’t have bothered posting, but I have and I’ll carry on cos the prices that I get on BF makes the returned SP look rather silly…. I have never taken any price at less than 5/1 so if you bet carefully, you’ll come out on the good side, even during a bad run…..<br>MONDAY…

Hi Tet, I’m back home just for tonight, so I’ll answer your query the best I can, Nick will have to wait till Wednesday…. hehehe….<br>About adding further filters… I already do but I can’t explain how, its a bit like Matrons "gut feeling". Thats not true really but I dont know how to put it into words. For instance, I haven’t bet any of these last 5 GG’s because they didn’t "feel" right, but I have to put them up because they are system selections. Perhaps we have a different outlook on what a system is, a system to me, is a method that shortlists a group of horses, and its for me to decide on whether I will bet them or give them a miss, the same goes for anyone following these selections. I use mostly the analysis as in the RP as to whether it worth a bet or not, they don’t have to say that a particular selection will win but if they insist that its got no chance whatsoever, then I swerve it. The only other thing that I am strictly for, is that I never bet any selection that I cant get 5/1 for somewhere (usually BF) and most of the time I’ve got at least a couple of points better than SP. To give you some idea, last month was my worst month since November, but I still made 22pts to level stakes and 31pts using my staking plan. I cannot put this up on the board and be seen to be fair, so it has to be the lot, warts and all, but we’re still making a profit aint we, they’re crap selections at present I’ll grant you but still making a profit and I dont think I can add any more filters cos I feel sure we would thoroughly shafted during the good times and I can’t just put the ones that I am betting up because that would have to be on the tipping thread instead of this ‘un….. this is a long posting, but I hope I convey my drift…. you have the selections in full and if we lose 50pts at any stage, I’ll bale out……<br>:biggrin: :biggrin: :biggrin:

Morning Mr E………thanks for your insight. I agree you should be flexible about any system, but this can often lead to opposite thinking (but that’s the beauty of the sport isn’t it?)<br> I don’t see IO as a good bet, prefer Cerulean Rose (but price way too short) and Twilight Mistress.<br> Would back IF due to trainers excellent record at the track in 3 yo handicaps……..however like you I would have price stipulations. <br> Might make a fun E/W double :o <br> Meanwhile mate thanks for posting the selections, you have an excellent system there.<br> Regards……Tet
