State Man has run another cracker and would’ve won but for landing on all fours at the last. The winner will have no chance against him next time and I feel the mares should be her target.
I thought this was going to be a true test for State Man today though as Willy normally leaves an awful lot to work with first time out. Even prime Faugheen got turned over in this race due to being overweight.
State Man will no doubt come on for the run, but the one feeling I got from this race is that Betterdaysahead can improve somewhat if she hurdles better. She was very sloppy at some obstacles, walked thorough a couple, yet still had enough in hand late on.
She’d hurdle better without that donkey Kennedy onboard. One of the most overrated NH jockeys I’ve seen along with Bryan Cooper. Kennedy is terrible at meeting obstacles on the correct stride.
Some race, glad i sat it out in the end as i would have been on state man at 1/2, shes a nice mare, but unless the ground comes up howling, she wont beat lossiemouth, she looks to be completely ground dependent imo, surprised shes not going to the stayers or over a fence, shes a tank
