If anyone is in possession of the career details for this horse, I’d be pleased to know them.
My slender knowledge of the animal comprises (a) that he was trained by Geoff Wragg and (b) that in the 1984 Ormonde Stakes he ran as a pacemaker for his more illustrious stable companion Teenoso.
Many thanks.
July 29, 2016 at 20:02 #1258241A real star of old.
A brown horse by Northfields (USA) out of Fairly Hot (USA) [Sir Ivor]
Was still showing the youngsters the way home at the age of 9, winning his final two starts at Newmarket (Craven meeting) and Chester (May meeting – the third time he won this handicap) early in 1988, both under Pat Eddery.
....and you've got to look a long way back for anything else.

uno Ascot septemberJuly 29, 2016 at 20:33 #1258246Started his career with one run (unplaced) in a 2-y-o contest at Ascot in September 1981.
Twice successful as a 3-y-o from ten runs.
Only ran four races as a 4-y-o.
Won one (Falmouth Handicap on York’s Ebor day) of his eight runs as a 5-y-o (1984), which included the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud (presumably as pacemaker for Teenoso again). His run in the Ormonde Stakes was just two days after running third in a handicap on the first day of the meeting.
Also won two (Chester and Chepstow in May) of his four runs as a 6-y-o (1985), one (Yarmouth) of his 5 runs as a 7-y-o (1986) and one (the same Chester handicap he won two years previously) of his three runs as an 8-y-o (1987).
....and you've got to look a long way back for anything else.

I dimly recall Mill Plantation’s record at Chester but had forgotten much more. Now I can outsmart my brother who was talking about the horse the other day. That said, I’ll probably confess eventually that I relied upon more knowledgeable sources for my information.
A thousand thanks.
