Moe, great to hear that Lady Buttons should have the kind
of retirement that she deserves. It cheers me up no end to
hear an uplifting story like that. Long may she enjoy running
on the beach and dipping her toes in the sea
December 20, 2024 at 14:06 #1715752Thanks for the heads up and reminder about the bonus race and the Godolphin comp! Just like most of us, I imagine, I picked the seven Godolphin runners today and threw in a few random horses to complete the ten.. rolled the dice on the bonus race and here we go again!
I worry that this might be the only bonus race – the Godolphin organizers track record has not been the best.
Hope everyone is doing well. Christmas is right around the corner, hopefully everyone is ready for Santa’s visit!
When do you head south Graham? I can imagine you are so very excited to see those two little grand babies.
Take Care Everyone!
December 20, 2024 at 15:19 #1715790well done Jac with Native approach
, no damage done with my 2nd ewDecember 20, 2024 at 18:23 #1715811Thanks Nick..I’ve only just got home and thrilled to see that both Cover Up and Native Approach came in..
I got the double up and took the 3/1 available on both of them
Good luck with your Tyson Fury bet tomorrow.

Moe..you are so lucky to be able to see Lady Buttons and Wise Eagle exercising on the beach..long may they enjoy their daily paddle.

Godolphin Fantasty League kicked off with a blast today with Native Approach winning the Bonus Race. The two SBS horses ran below par with Movie Maker occupying last position.

I managed to gain 200 Bonus Points and am on a score of 890 points along with quite a few players.
Well done if you managed more.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...December 21, 2024 at 14:12 #1715971I’m also on 890 pts and a top ten ranking of 5th, along with just over 100 of my closest friends

Nice double Jac – well done!
Good Luck with all your bets & comp selections today.
December 21, 2024 at 19:38 #1716025Did the “forgotten password” thing and am also on 890. Came at a cost though. Despite the email informing us that they would “work their magic” to allow us to switch horses without losing swaps because no Godolphin horses had run, I am now reduced to 4 swaps. It’s such an incompetently run competition. I share John’s concerns about bonus races.
December 21, 2024 at 20:45 #1716029Hello everyone! It’s great to hear how we are all doing and Andre you guys seem to have it tough with all the weather, all the time in winter 🥶.
Moe come out from behind the sofa here’s hoping your favourite horses all get home safely. But they do all seem to love their outings…
Hopefully with a nudge of encouragement the trainers will know when it’s time to grass them out and up the polos and carrots 🥕.
I hope everyone has a lovely holiday period and with Boxing Day looming I hope the king George is an enjoyable contest one which will be remembered for all the right reasons.December 22, 2024 at 02:55 #1716054Andre I’m already half way there. We are staying in The Black Bull
in Sedbergh. Really nice hotel, we went for the Luxury room (well
you only live once) Supeb meal, although nearly died when looking
at wine list, there were plenty up to £300. You’ve got t0 be kidding
mate I said, he pointed me towards the 30/40 quid area and said these
are very good sir. It all goes down the same way.Disaster before it started, Marjorie hass 2 credit cards, but can’t
remember the pin numbers. I gave her one of my two and she appeared
back saying the hole in the wall ate it. WHAT!!! phoned Virgin Money,
all they could do is send out a new card and number but she did say I
could still use my online banking. Thats all very well but how to get
cash?.“Do you want a new card and number for your other account” No I said,
I think I know what the number is, I can use that. I found my notes,
from the time of Queen Victoria. I put them in in code, I was smarter
then, I hadn’t a clue how to decipher it, but thought I’d give my best
Guess a try. At least the machine gave me my card back. I thought I was
screwed. Nothing else for it I had to use the credit card for cash. How
is it that MBNA credit cards have a facility for confirming your Pin,
but not bloody debit cards
So hit the Credit card and eventually we got going. It pissed the whole
way down and some old git clipped my mirror. Fortunately not much damage.Eventually we arrived at the hotel at 7.20 with dinner booked for 7.30
but the very nice receptionist asked if 8.00 would give us time to get
into our room and tidied up.It was very good, fancier than my usual scran, and you could have got
6 in the bed……… I said COULD HAVE
Saw no racing, and just as well as they probably are still running.
Hope you guys are holding the fort, well done with your double Jac. I’d
love to see another double, Jac for Poster and Thread of the year
December 23, 2024 at 00:05 #1716092So glad to hear you finally made it to The Black Bull Graham and hope you enjoyed your meal after all the inconveniences you encountered on your journey there. Phew those wine prices were eye watering.

Re the credit card nightmare, have you thought of 🤭🤣keeping your cards in a Google or Apple wallet on your mobile phone. It saves you carrying the cards with you and if one gets lost or swallowed up you always have a back up.
Son Chris put mine on my mobile for me and it even carry’s your loyalty cards like Costa, Tesco etc, even Dave is using it now and he’s only just reluctantly given up his brick phone..lol 🤣😀Stay safe as you continue your journey and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the double in the TRF awards and hope this Thread gets high in the votes and as far as Poster Of The Year is concerned…well I’m rooting on it being YOU Graham bringing it back to us here…nobody deserves it more.

Really hope Godolphin get busy soon and give everyone back the swap they used prematurely because of their bad management of the competition.
Every year it seems to get worse, I’m sure they’ll get around to it after Christmas..probably all on their holidays at the moment. If not an email to our friend Anna might not go amiss.Have a great Christmas and enjoy the Great racing that is coming this week.
Are you off racing on Boxing Day?Talking of Boxing Nick what a Farce of a fight that was Saturday night. Be interested to hear how you scored it after the judges scored consecutive rounds to Usyk, that seems beyond belief.

Thought Fury looked a little overweight and his refusal to shave his beard probably didn’t go down well but hey the man thought he’d won it.
Wonder if he’ll step back now.🤔 Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...December 23, 2024 at 11:00 #1716111I’ve taken the year off the Godolphin compy Jac.. I’ll enter the next one
Fury didn’t lose by much but I didn’t think he done enough to be deserved Champion in a close fight I think the challenger has to do a bit more.
Good luck to Jac and BigG in the awards
and a Merry Christmas to all…

Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
December 23, 2024 at 13:00 #1716132Thanks Nathan, and a merry Christmas to you too
I was blown over just getting nominated but amazsd to
get so many votes. I voted for Jac and hoped she would
win. I see greenasgrass is on the same number of votes,
She would be a worthy winner
Jac I’ve never contemplated putting my cards into a safe
place. I’m a bit like Dave by the sound of it lol. You’ll need to send Chris over to Oxford

I’m going into Lancaster shortly. It’s the nearest
Virgin Money and only a 30 min run. Never been to
Lancaster so it will be a new experience if nothing
else
Well to all on Meydan Thursdays, have a great Christmas
and please God we all have a happy and healthy 2025
December 24, 2024 at 15:08 #1716251Glad to hear you’re on your way south Graham! A few challenges with debit cards, PINs, and the price of a bottle of wine, but you’ll soon be holding those grand-babies, which will make it all worthwhile. I hope you got things sorted in Lancaster. Travel Safe.
I haven’t made the switch to using a Google wallet yet. Maybe I’m another dinosaur like Graham. We typically use credit cards for everything here, then pay the balance in full each month. We get a nice cash back bonus each month too.
I think the TRF should make a takeover bid for the Godolphin Comp. How difficult can it be to run a comp properly (or at least better than the dismal show they are making of it). Hopefully you’ll get your swap back Catherine.
Christmas will here and gone before we know it. I hope everyone has a lovely time with family and/or friends. In recent years I always find Christmas Day evening a little depressing, after everyone has gone home, the excitement and anticipation are so fleeting.
Wishing my lovely extended Meydan Thursday a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!
PS – I hope to see Lossiemouth storm home a winner in the Christmas Hurdle on Boxing Day. I’m sure Nicky H. will have his excuses ready for why CH got beat.
December 24, 2024 at 17:11 #1716256Graham thank you for all your kind words, it looks like the Poster award is going to be a close one between green and yourself. I’m rooting for
you of course Graham but green is also a brilliant poster and all fingers are crossed for the final battle.
Not long now until you are cuddling your lovely grandchildren and retelling your tales of chewed up credit cards and chasing around towns and cities looking for an ATM, let alone the bad driver who cracked your wing mirror
All these things are replaceable but you are not..stay safe and well and have the best Christmas ever. 🎄🎅🏻🍾🥂🍾Andre.. thanks so much for those lovely words about the Thread. It wouldn’t be
the same without you here and it’s great that you can come here and tell us how life is across the pond, I bet it’s looking like a Winter wonderland at the moment 🌨🏡🐎⛄️ Best of luck in Bobby’s TTF this year I’d love to see you win it for a record 3rd time or is it 4.
Have a great Christmas because it’s not long now until the orange one steps back into the White House.
Nathan I think you are right about Fury he needed that KO to seal it but he wasn’t up to it.
Sorry your not playing in the Godolphin compy this time but perfectly understand your reasons. We could run it better with our eyes closed whilst riding Shadow Of light round Epsom bareback.
Have a great one..How’s Alex getting on? 🍷🍾🥂All good festive wishes to John who always gives us the head up on any Godolphin Bonus races going 😀 although this year he must have felt out of a job as whoever was organising them forgot to post them up to the competition on line.
Best of luck in Graham’s TRF TTF comp John you’re never far behind and I’ll be looking over my shoulder on Boxing Day.Nick shame about your bet on Fury, what a disaster but maybe he’ll be back.
Look forward to seeing you back when Meydan returns in the new year.
Sam keep writing the poetry and hope you get to spend lots of quality time with Poppy this Christmas. It’s been a tough old year for you and a few of us on here but just seeing our kids and Grandkids faces on Christmas morning makes it all worth while.
Wish you success in 2025 Sam.Moe .. keep popping with your excellent advice and tales of Wise Eagle and the beautiful Lady Buttons. Hope you enjoy a few brisk walks along the beach this Holiday because apart from the racing and All Creatures Great and Small the TV is a big switch off this year.
Catherine have a lovely Christmas and Happy New Year whatever you’re up too and hopefully Godolphin will sort out the mess they have made before racing returns after Christmas.
See you all on Boxing Day with Andre cheering on Lossiemouth against the Great Pretender Constitution Hill..Hope she shows him a clean pair of heels and all come home safely.
🎅🏻🎄🍷⛄️🔔⭐️MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HEALTHY AND HAPPY 2025 to everyone who posts on here and makes this Thread what it is ❤️🍷🥂🍾🎅🏻🎄
Jac
🎅🏻🍷

Kenpton Park
Both Spillanes Tower
And

Both win
